How to Get More Done in Less Time

Today's episode is all about how to get more done in less time.

During my entrepreneurial career, I've discovered a few things that help me get a lot done in a lot less time than it would typically take. And it's just been a lot of trial and error that's gotten me here. But I'd like to share my secret with you guys. And it's so simple that it's not a secret to many people. But and yet to many people, it is kind of a secret.

The secret is simply to do your research and planning ahead of time. What I mean by that is that if you start on a project without much plan, you're not going to get a lot done because you don't have a step by step plan to get there.

It starts with the research process.

When you start a business or start on some sort of project, you have to research and figure out what other people have done. Research and find out what works. And you've got to try a model that works.

So if you want to build a funnel to sell something, you don't just start from scratch because it's going to be very time-consuming and quite difficult. Create creatively to come up with stuff. Get up a copy. Come up with videos, photos, and stuff like that. There are so many people out there who have already created successful sales funnels and different niches in different offers.

You can simply just go out. Act like you're a consumer. Find those advertisements that lead you to sales funnels and then screenshot them. Copy and paste their copy into a notebook Swype file. Save their video, save their photos, and study them. Write down everything that you can and learn from them. Inculcate your mind with exactly the information that they're giving. Not just the end of what their information is giving, but in how they're giving it.

I use a spreadsheet to save information in columns and rows. Doing that process before you start planning really helps the planning process happen. Because once you have an idea of what works in your mind and on paper - examples of copywriting and all these other things you can use, you can go through the planning stage and plan out every step of your funnel.

You can plan out the headlines, sub-headlines called actions, how the button should be colored, and what the buttons will say and stuff like that. And as you go throughout the planning phase, it'll be a lot easier because you already know what's working out there. You can model what works in a different niche and bust that out. More likely than not, you're going to find a lot more success in that.

Let's just say, for instance, you're going go without any research. You're going to sort of plan things, but not that well. You're going to have no idea what you're doing. So it isn't going to be optimized at all. And then you start driving traffic to, and you're just going to waste money because people are going to convert. It's going to take you a lot more time to find success.

Research first and do as much research as you can. Plan it out very clearly for yourself. Know every step, and then as you take action, what I recommend doing is filming videos of yourself doing it. Film yourself so that you can put it on a YouTube channel as private or as unlisted videos. It is something to refer back to for the next time you want to do it. And then as you do a few these things, you're going to start perfecting it and you film every single time.

As you perfect it and get it really good, you can start outsourcing it. Give that video to a virtual assistant. Have them do the work for you. And then all of a sudden you can have them build funnels and all sorts of other niches and stuff like that. It's a really cool process, and it definitely works well.

Research, plan, document, and execute.

In the execution phase should be the shortest phase because you've researched. You already know what works. You've planned. You know exactly what to do. You've documented, so you know step by step how to do it. The execution phase is literally just getting it done. And that should take a matter of hours or if it's a huge project, a matter of days.

But without all those steps in line for the first time you do it, you're going to end up taking weeks or months to finish your project because it's not going to go as quickly as you planned. You'll get burnt out. You'll get distracted. You'll get distracted by social media and friends. You'll get distracted by feelings of angst and want to go outside and do other things because it would make you feel better as a person.

As you go and do your research, you'll see that it is fun. The research phase is really interesting, and it's it builds curiosity. It's kind of like being a secret shopper. You've got to try to have fun with the research phase because that is the most critical phase. Everything else goes in line.

Remember: research, plan, document, and execute.

It's got to be in that order. And that's how you're going to get way more done and way less time. You know, again, as I said in the past episodes about Abraham Lincoln's quote "If you give me four hours to chop down a tree, I'll use the first three to sharpen my ax." That's the way you have to live your life. Coming from a true, resilient person.

I mean, he lost election after election after election. He never got into office until he went for the presidency. He failed so many times. Finally, he won the presidency because of all the things he did to sharpen his act. And that's what you should do.

Keep that in mind as you're building out sales funnels, eCommerce site, or building out whatever you're building. Make sure that you research appropriately and find a model that works. Keep a Swype file and keep it in writing. Keep an image file or a video file, so you'll have ideas to go back and draw ideas from other people.

There's a lot of free stuff on YouTube. Be a shopper in your niche, and see what other people have for their sales funnels.

I'll give you an example.

Last night I was on my phone, and I decided to research the real estate wholesaling niche. So this is if anybody has a house to sell and they have to sell it fast for whatever reason, maybe they're going bankrupt, they got divorced, or they just need the money fast. There are many reasons people need to sell their house fast for cash, and they can't afford the time it takes to go to a real estate agent and appraise the house. All this and take months to sell it for a higher price. They want to sell it fast. They're willing to sell it for less. So they go online.

They search for how to sell a house fast for cash. And some organic funnels show up, and they're organic, but there are many ads. And so in the ads, you go into those, and they're very simple ski's pages. Usually, it's a multi-step squeeze page, or it's all in one form. But they capture the name, the address, the phone number, email address, and maybe even some extra bits of info person click submit. And then they say, "OK, great! We'll get back to you." And I thought, that's fine and all, but I bet you can make that sales funnel way better.

One of the things I'm going to be working on in the future is building out sales funnel for real estate. Real estate investing business. Buy your house pass for the cash business. And the idea is that I'll start as an affiliate or as a person who gets leads for companies connected with investors. And I'll sell those leads to those companies so that they can call them, and that's affiliate marketing.

But in the future, if I wanted to, I could go out and get those investors' contact information myself, get those leads and, call the people then close them on the contract. I'll have the investor go out and offer up the money and then buy the property, and then, they would flip it from there.

There are multi-steps in that process. You know, if a sales funnel can be improved, then improve it and get leads and close those leads.

Suppose you research ahead of time, and you see what's working - who's running the most ads, the ones at the very top. In that case, those are probably the ones that are working because they can afford to pay more for the ads, try to improve them. You don't need to improve too much on the stuff that works well. Keep that in mind. But if you think they could be approved and want to experiment, then plan things out.

Use a spreadsheet for planning. You can even make a video for yourself. But I usually just make a note pad with one, two, three, four steps. Step one, step two, step three support, kind of a checklist, and that's the planning phase. It's really easy.

Once you have that done, it's cool because you can refer back to that whenever you like when you wake up in the morning.

Yesterday I made this cool list. It's a plan. I did my research. I know what to do. I have a list of action steps. I can just start the next one. Hopefully, it'll be done in a way faster than normal.
