How To Quit Your Day Job and Work From Home in 6 Months or Less
At one point or another, most employees have dreamed of leaving their 9-to-5 behind in pursuit of starting their own business. The idea of starting your own business is incredibly appealing, especially when you hear stories of people who successfully quit their day jobs. But are you ready to take the leap for this?
Let's talk about quitting your job, tips, and tricks on how to quit your job, and how to be prepared to work from home before you quit your job so that you don’t run into financial situations afterward and how to go back and get a job again.
When I first started with high-ticket drop shipping as background 2010, it’s almost 10 years ago now. I was doing eCommerce already. I was selling things from my garage, the things I left over from high school and college years, and the things that I would find around in the returns department at the place I worked at (it's going to be thrown away anyway), and anything I can come across with... I was selling it on eBay. eBay is a great place to start to learn about eCommerce and so what I was doing was, I was learning how to make really good titles, product descriptions, take photos, how to fulfill orders, and do customer service - do marketing basically. Coping about eBay, of course, is that they already do the marketing promotions for you all you have to do is create product listing and do the fulfillment. So eBay is a great place to get started for learning to sell stuff online but you should not stop there if you want to create a real business.
Quitting your job to become self-employed or work from home that kind of thing, you’re going to have had to learn all the different facets of business and you’re going to need to understand how the internet works if you want to work online and do something online like dropshipping or high ticket dropshipping or any other version of eCommerce like private label and something like that.
You have to learn how internet marketing works so that you can market yourself as the owner of the business, tell your stories, sell your products and give them it's features and benefits. You want to be able to understand sales so you can close sales consistently and have income with your business... So what I recommend first before you quit your job is you actually start learning about eCommerce if you haven’t already. Open an eBay store and take anything you have at home or go to the garage sale and look for cheap stuff and just try selling it on eBay. You never know what something might be worth on eBay if someone else halfway across the world or in the same town might pay for it... So get started with that and learn how that works.
Choosing the correct niche is your first step in starting a dropshipping business and then create your brand and your logo. Choose the niche that you are comfortable with and that you think you would be successful. The second step will be finding reliable dropship suppliers - so take note of those brands/stores and call them. You need to choose the right selling platform for your business - Shopify is the easiest.
Remember that if you really want to quit your day job to work from home really bad, you're going to have to make some sacrifices so I would say if you are willing to sacrifice the next three to six months in your life in order to obtain a type of business that you can work from home and you can travel around the world with and can provide you a somewhat sustainable income.
Failure on the first try, second try, or even third try may come your way but don't give up. What's important is that you keep on trying until you succeed. It's not an overnight process, it takes time.
So, if you want to quit your day job, don't just go and quit! Be prepared for it.
