Both of these providers advertise a price they do not sell at. LumiProxy says $0.78 per gigabyte and charges $5.00 at its smallest tier. IPRoyal says $1.75 and charges $7.00. The difference is that one of them will tell you who they are and where their network comes from. I run Ecommerce Paradise, and I reviewed both in full before writing this comparison.
Named Sourcing and Traffic That Does Not Expire
IPRoyal publishes Pawns.app as its opt-in program, names a legal entity, and lets pay-as-you-go traffic sit until you use it.
The Short Answer
IPRoyal, for almost everyone, and it is not a close contest.
LumiProxy is cheaper on rotating bandwidth at the entry tier and more than twice as expensive on the static IPs a store owner should actually buy. It has never been independently benchmarked, names no legal entity, publishes contradictory pool figures on a single page, and its refund policy explicitly denies refunds even when the product does not match its advertised features.
That last clause is not my summary of the policy. It is close to a direct quote.
Price Head to Head
| Product | LumiProxy | IPRoyal |
|---|---|---|
| Advertised headline | $0.78 per GB | $1.75 per GB |
| Actual entry price | $5.00 per GB at 2 GB | $7.00 per GB at 1 GB |
| Headline gap | 6.4x | 4x |
| Best published rate | $1.80 per GB at 200 GB | $1.75 per GB at 10 TB |
| Static residential per IP | $6.00 for 30 days | $2.70 for 30 days, $2.40 on 90 days |
| Datacenter per IP | $4.20 for 30 days | $1.57 for 30 days |
| Mobile proxies | Not offered | From $5.20 per GB |
| Traffic expiry | Not documented | Pay-as-you-go does not expire |
Read the static residential row twice, because it inverts the story the headlines tell. LumiProxy charges $6.00 per IP where IPRoyal charges $2.40 to $2.70. That is more than double, for the exact product a store owner needs.
Datacenter is the same shape: $4.20 against $1.57, nearly three times.
LumiProxy’s only genuine price advantage is rotating bandwidth at small volumes, $5.00 against $7.00. If that is what you are buying, it wins on price. It is also the product most store owners should not be buying.
Sourcing Head to Head
IPRoyal names Pawns.app. It is a downloadable consumer application, it pays participants from a five dollar minimum through several payout methods, and IPRoyal’s help documentation states members can leave at any time.
LumiProxy publishes nothing. I searched its residential product page for the vocabulary every disclosing provider uses. The words consent, opt-in, ethically, voluntary, GDPR and CCPA appear zero times each. The entire disclosure is one sentence asserting the network is compliant.
There is no about page anywhere in LumiProxy’s own sitemap, and no legal entity is named in the terms, the privacy policy or the refund policy. The refund policy describes itself circularly as the policy for LumiProxy, a service provided by LumiProxy.
The Jurisdiction Problem
This one is specific to LumiProxy and it has no equivalent on the IPRoyal side.
LumiProxy’s terms of service are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. Its privacy policy states that information related to you is located in mainland China. Its site footer says the service is not available in mainland China. So your data sits in a jurisdiction the company will not sell into.
There is also an anti-money-laundering page citing the Bank Secrecy Act, FINRA rules and FinCEN, which is United States broker-dealer boilerplate that has nothing to do with a proxy provider.
The privacy policy appears to be an unedited machine translation of a template written for a different product, since it refers to the product easy cloud service you are using.
None of that is illegal. All of it tells you how much care went into the documents that would govern your relationship if something went wrong.
Refunds Head to Head
| LumiProxy | IPRoyal | |
|---|---|---|
| Policy | Refunds not provided, including where the product does not match its features | Available if 100 MB or less consumed |
| Traffic voids claim | Yes, any data transmitted | Yes, past 100 MB |
| Crypto | Not specified | Explicitly non-refundable |
| Free trial | None for proxies | Companies only, after verification |
IPRoyal’s window is narrow. LumiProxy’s is effectively closed. A policy that lists, under a heading about refundable situations, that refunds will not be provided for services that do not align with the product’s features is not a refund policy in any useful sense.
Reviews and Testing Head to Head
| LumiProxy | IPRoyal | |
|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 2.8 across 15 reviews | Far higher, on far more volume |
| G2 | 4.9 across 16 reviews | Around 890 reviews |
| Distribution | 53% five star, 47% one star, nothing between | Normal spread |
| Proxyway 2026 testing | Absent entirely | Among the 13 tested |
Fewer than 35 reviews exist for LumiProxy across the entire internet, and the two platforms carrying them disagree by 2.1 stars on nearly identical sample sizes. G2 shows IPRoyal at around 890 reviews for comparison.
The LumiProxy complaint themes are operationally serious. Customers report being sold datacenter IPs after paying for residential, the same IPs being sold to multiple buyers simultaneously, static IPs changed without warning during maintenance, and ASN targeting offered at checkout but not honoured on delivery.
Every one of those would break an automated workflow, against a refund policy that does not cover products failing to match their description.
LumiProxy also appears nowhere in Proxyway’s 2026 proxy market research, which formally tested thirteen providers including IPRoyal. A site-wide search of Proxyway returns no LumiProxy results at all, so every performance claim on its site is self-reported and has never been checked by anyone.

Why Sourcing Became the Deciding Criterion
Two years ago this section would have read as a preference. It does not now.
On 2 July 2026 the FBI seized NetNut’s domains over an alleged botnet of around two million compromised devices running proxy software without their owners’ consent. NetNut’s parent company trades on NASDAQ and NetNut had been formally benchmarked three months earlier.
Weeks before that, Spur found proxy software development kits in 2,058 of 6,038 smart TV apps, with proxying continuing after the app was closed.
Neither IPRoyal nor LumiProxy was named in that research. For IPRoyal that is mildly reassuring, since its program is documented and attributable and was not among those flagged. For LumiProxy it means very little, because a provider that publishes no program cannot be found by that kind of research in either direction.
Which Should You Buy?
Buy IPRoyal if you need static residential IPs, which is most store owners, or you want traffic that does not expire, or you need to name your vendor to anyone, or you want a provider somebody independent has actually measured.
Buy LumiProxy if you specifically need cheap rotating bandwidth at small volume, the task is disposable, and you have read the refund policy and accepted it deliberately.
Buy neither if you have not established that you need proxies at all.
Do You Actually Need Proxies?
Most people running a high-ticket store do not, and saying so is more useful than picking a winner.
Two situations genuinely call for them. Seeing your own storefront as a customer in another country sees it, including currency, shipping options and whether your payment methods render. And confirming your ads and landing pages appear correctly from the regions you buy traffic in.
Both need three to five static residential IPs. Neither needs rotating gigabytes, which is the only column LumiProxy wins.
At IPRoyal’s $2.40 per IP on a 90 day term that is about seven dollars a month with unlimited traffic. At LumiProxy’s $6.00 it is eighteen.
And if you are standing up a scraping operation before the store is profitable, the scraping is not the bottleneck. In high-ticket dropshipping the edge is supplier relationships and presentation, not harvesting prices faster than competitors change them.
Rotating Versus Static, Plainly
The terminology is what makes people buy the wrong thing, so here it is once more.
A rotating residential proxy gives you a different IP on every request, billed per gigabyte, built for scraping thousands of pages as a different apparent person each time.
A static residential proxy gives you one fixed IP in one country that stays yours, billed per IP, usually with unlimited bandwidth, built for looking like a consistent ordinary resident of a specific place.
Almost every store owner needs the second. You want to be one German, repeatedly, for weeks. You do not want to be a different German every twelve seconds.
Once you know that, this comparison resolves immediately, because LumiProxy charges more than double for the product you need.
If You Test Either One
Buy the smallest package. Two gigabytes or three static IPs. The entry tier is your test, not your deployment, and with LumiProxy in particular the money is unrecoverable once traffic passes.
Test against the exact sites you care about on day one, not a generic IP checker. Your own storefront from the target country and your ad landing pages.
If you buy static IPs, verify the country and the network on day one and again a week later, given the documented complaints about silent changes. My IPRoyal setup guide covers the configuration.
Never route store admin, payment processor or bank logins through any proxy from any provider.
The Vendor Paperwork
One consideration that goes beyond price.
Once you operate as a real entity holding customer data, every vendor is part of your risk surface. If an auditor or an enterprise customer asks who processes your traffic and where, you need an answer.
With LumiProxy you cannot give one, because no legal entity is named anywhere, and its own documents point at three unrelated jurisdictions. That is the same reasoning behind getting the business formation groundwork right rather than improvising it, and it is why I keep returning to disclosure rather than price.
If proxy spend is climbing on a store that is not yet profitable, the leverage is elsewhere anyway, usually in getting approved with better suppliers. And if the margin never worked, that belongs in the niche decision rather than the tool stack.
The Pool Size Claims
A smaller flag, but it points the same direction as everything else.
LumiProxy claims more than 90 million residential IPs across its navigation, homepage and pricing pages. On its own residential product page, the features section says more than 72 million, and a few hundred words below it the same page says over 90 million.
That is a 25% discrepancy on a single page, unreconciled and apparently unnoticed.
Pool size is the headline metric in this industry and it is almost never independently verified, so treat every provider’s number with suspicion including IPRoyal’s 64 million claim. But a company that cannot hold its own figure consistent within one page is telling you something about how carefully that figure was arrived at.
The same page also describes its non-rotating ISP product as a real rotating residential proxy, which is copy pasted from the wrong page, and the site footer claims ISO/IEC 27001 certification spelled with a missing letter and no certificate number or certifying body named.
Features Head to Head
| LumiProxy | IPRoyal | |
|---|---|---|
| Protocols | HTTP and SOCKS5 | HTTP and SOCKS5 |
| Concurrent sessions | Unlimited on residential | Varies by plan, more ports after verification |
| Geo targeting | Claims city level and ASN | Country level, 31+ on static |
| Managed unblocking | Scraper APIs from $0.75 per 1,000 | Web Unblocker from $1.00 per 1,000 |
| Payment methods | Cards, crypto | Cards, PayPal, Alipay, 25 cryptocurrencies |
| Independent benchmark | None | Proxyway 2026 |
On paper the technical specifications are comparable, and LumiProxy’s unlimited concurrent sessions on residential is a genuine advantage for anyone running parallel requests.
The caveat is that LumiProxy’s ASN targeting is exactly what a Trustpilot reviewer reports being offered at checkout and not honoured on delivery. A specification you cannot verify and cannot get refunded for is worth less than the same specification from a provider somebody has tested.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is cheaper, LumiProxy or IPRoyal?
It depends on the product. LumiProxy is cheaper on rotating bandwidth, $5.00 against $7.00 at entry. IPRoyal is less than half the price on static residential IPs, $2.70 against $6.00.
Which has better sourcing disclosure?
IPRoyal, comprehensively. It names Pawns.app. LumiProxy publishes no sourcing statement, no about page and no legal entity.
Can I get a refund from LumiProxy?
Almost certainly not. The policy states refunds are not provided even for services that do not align with the product’s features, and transmitting any data voids a claim.
Does LumiProxy offer mobile proxies?
No. Its lines are rotating residential, unlimited residential, long-acting ISP, static residential and datacenter.
Has either been independently tested?
IPRoyal was among thirteen providers formally tested in Proxyway’s 2026 research. LumiProxy appears nowhere in it.
A Note on Being Fair to LumiProxy
I want to be careful here, because a comparison this one-sided can slide into an accusation it cannot support.
LumiProxy is a functioning service. It has real customers, 53% of its Trustpilot reviewers gave it five stars, and nothing I found connects it to any wrongdoing whatsoever. It is not a scam and I am not calling it one.
The criticism is narrower and it is about evidence rather than conduct. LumiProxy declines to publish the information that would let anyone evaluate it: who owns it, where the network comes from, and whether the performance claims are true. Nobody independent has tested it. Its own documents contradict each other in at least four places.
You can accept all of that knowingly for a ten dollar experiment. Plenty of people do and get what they paid for. What you cannot do is verify anything before you spend, and after July 2026 that is a heavier ask than it used to be.
IPRoyal gets my recommendation not because it is flawless, but because every claim it makes can be checked against something outside its own marketing.
Bottom Line
LumiProxy wins one column, rotating bandwidth at small volumes, and loses every other one that matters. It charges more than double for static IPs, publishes nothing about sourcing, names no legal entity, contradicts its own pool figure on a single page, has never been independently measured, and disclaims refunds even when the product does not match its description.
IPRoyal is not perfect. It advertises a headline four times below its entry price, offers no free trial to individuals, and runs a tight 100 MB refund window. But it names its sourcing program, it names itself, its traffic does not expire, and its static IP pricing matches the job a store owner actually has.
Buy three IPRoyal static IPs for about seven dollars a month. That is the whole recommendation.
