Nobody searches for Bank Checks Plus alternatives out of curiosity. Something specific pushed you, and in my experience with this vendor it is one of three things. You could not work out what the order would actually cost, because Bank Checks Plus publishes no shipping price anywhere on its site. You read the refund policy and found the 50 percent restocking fee on custom printed products. Or you wanted a real high security tier and found one hologram line and a category page that says there are no products assigned to it.
All three are fair reasons to look elsewhere, and I say that having just published a full Bank Checks Plus pricing breakdown that is positive about its actual prices. The checks are cheap. The problem is everything around the checks.
So this is not a listicle of every check printer on the internet. It is four alternatives I priced myself this session, ranked for a high-ticket dropshipping store paying suppliers at $1,000 to $5,000 an order, plus a fifth that sells checks but publishes no prices and three I could not reach at all. Every quantity comes with its configuration attached, because a check price without a quantity and a security tier is not a price.
The Shortlist, at a Glance
Every price below is for standard security laser voucher checks, singles, at or near 500 checks, which is the quantity most single operator stores should actually buy. I have put the delivered cost next to it wherever the vendor publishes shipping, because that is the number Bank Checks Plus will not give you.

Bank Checks Plus sits fourth of five on the check price alone, and it is one of only two here that will not let you compute a total before checkout. That is the story of this article in one table.
Pay $60.19 delivered instead of $90.39 plus an unknown
Costco Checks prices 500 laser multi-purpose checks at $60.19 and publishes free Business Standard Trackable shipping at 7 to 10 business days. That is 12.04 cents a check, delivered, with a number you can put in a budget.
1. Costco Checks, the Cheapest Delivered Cost by a Wide Margin
This is the one that surprised me, and it is the reason I wrote this article rather than just pointing everyone at Tech Checks. The site is operated by Harland Clarke Check Printing, and its own home page carries the line “This site is operated by a third party, not by Costco.”
Its Laser Multi-Purpose Check (Top) product publishes an unusually long ladder in 1-part and 2-part versions. These are the 1-part prices.

Read that ladder carefully, because it does something unusual. The per check cost bottoms out at 1,000 checks and then gets slightly worse at every step above it. Buying 10,000 checks costs you 8.81 cents each against 8.43 cents at 1,000. There is no bulk reward here past a thousand, which conveniently matches what a real store should buy anyway.
The shipping is the decisive part. Its FAQ publishes three business shipping methods: Business Secure Trackable Express at 4 to 6 business days for $30.48, Business Trackable Expedited at 5 to 7 business days for $15.60, and Business Standard Trackable at 7 to 10 business days for free. A trackable business shipment at no charge is not something Bank Checks Plus, CheckAdvantage or Tech Checks offers.
Its high security line is also the cheapest I found. High Security Laser Multi-Purpose Top publishes 500 at $163.69 and 1,000 at $214.49, which undercuts the Bank Checks Plus hologram line at $186.44 and $248.59 for the same quantities.
Two things to weigh against that. The product page publishes a “$25 First Time Setup Fee” for a custom logo, which Tech Checks does not charge. And the page states the company typically ships within 3 to 5 business days of receiving order information, so at the free shipping tier you are looking at roughly two weeks door to door rather than the same day dispatch Bank Checks Plus advertises.
Who should switch to Costco Checks
Anyone whose reason for leaving was cost or the inability to budget a total. At 500 checks you pay $60.19 delivered against $90.39 plus an unknown shipping charge, and you can see both numbers before you type a routing number. That is the whole argument.
2. Tech Checks, the Best Documented and the One I Track
Tech Checks is the alternative I have an affiliate relationship with, so treat my enthusiasm accordingly, but it earns second place on the evidence rather than on the commission. Its standard Top of Page ladder runs 50 at $21.95, 100 at $34.95, 300 at $61.95, 600 at $88.95, 1,200 at $135.95, 2,500 at $239.95 and 5,000 at $426.95, against a published MSRP of $48.95.
Where it beats Bank Checks Plus is documentation. It publishes a weight for every quantity and a ground and two day air rate for every weight bracket, a stated lead time on every product, and a coupons page listing which offers are real. Six hundred checks weigh a published 7 lb and ship ground at $13.95, so the delivered cost is $102.90 and you know it in advance.
Its security tiering is also better structured. SecuDocs at 250 checks is $119.95 and at 500 is $179.95, with sixteen named features on its security page including chemical reaction sensitivity and Printloc toner adhesion. Bank Checks Plus publishes ten features on its hologram product page and has an empty Top High Security Checks category.
The live code today is TECHBP5, which its coupons page describes as “Spend over $100 and receive $5 off our already low prices by using coupon code TECHBP5”. The honest weakness: Tech Checks is slower. It quotes 3 to 5 business days of production before transit, where Bank Checks Plus states that standard laser orders received by noon ship the same day by FedEx at no charge for the same day service. If speed is why you are here, Tech Checks is a step backwards.
Worried the cheap option has no paper trail behind it?
Then buy the documented one. Tech Checks publishes MSRP and sale price on every ladder, a weight for every quantity, a lead time on every product, and sixteen named security features on the SecuDocs tier.
3. Checks For Less, the Widest Quantity Grid
Checks For Less publishes something neither Bank Checks Plus nor Tech Checks does: a single page with the entire laser check price matrix on it, in singles, duplicates and triplicates side by side. Its Laser Business Checks, item LV1, are described on that page as compatible with QuickBooks and Peachtree or Sage 50.

Its shipping is published as a flat fee by order subtotal, which is the clearest scheme of anyone here: $9.00 up to $30.00 of goods, $13.00 to $75.00, $17.00 to $125.00, $21.00 to $185.00, $25.00 to $250.00, and the UPS ground rate above $250. So 500 checks at $82.95 lands in the $17.00 band for a delivered $99.95.
The triplicate column is worth noticing because nobody else here offers it, and if you hand-write checks on a job site with a copy for the office and a copy for the customer, that is a real format need.
The weakness is the high security tier, which is the most expensive of anyone I priced. Its High Security Laser Checks, item HSLV1, publish 250 at $206.95, 500 at $286.95 and 1,000 at $384.95. At 500 checks that is 57.39 cents each against 32.74 cents at Costco Checks and 37.29 cents for the Bank Checks Plus hologram line. If security is why you are leaving, this is not the destination.
Production is also slow. Its shipping and production policy page lists imprint items, which includes high security checks, at 5 to 7 business days, with same day rush production available at $55 per item for orders received by 10am Eastern.
4. CheckAdvantage, Where the Security Paper Is Standard
CheckAdvantage is the one that changed my thinking about how to compare these companies. Its security features page states that its premium paper includes “Full Chemical Reactivity: Paper reacts to bleach, acids, and alkalis, as well as polar and non-polar solvents” and “SecurLaser: Surface treatment applied to both sides to maximize toner adhesion.”
Chemical reactivity and toner adhesion are the two features that actually defend against check washing, which is the attack you are exposed to when you mail a $3,000 supplier payment. Everywhere else on this list they sit behind a premium tier. At CheckAdvantage they are on the base paper.
The catch is the price. Its Top QuickBooks and Quicken Checks publish 100 at $26.40, 250 at $62.15, 500 at $116.05, 1,000 at $157.65, 2,500 at $320.90 and 5,000 at $520.70 in singles. At 500 checks that $116.05 is the most expensive standard option in this comparison, and it is 28 percent more than the $90.39 you were paying at Bank Checks Plus.
Two places it genuinely wins. At 100 checks its $26.40 is the cheapest small order anywhere here, against $39.54 at Bank Checks Plus. And its blank check stock is the cheapest I found: Top Blank Check Stock publishes 500 at $40.20, 1,000 at $65.45 and 10,000 at $456.60, where Tech Checks blank top of page is $43.95, $76.95 and $544.95 for the same three quantities.
It repeats the Bank Checks Plus failure on shipping, though. Its shipping info page states that business product shipping costs are calculated based on the total weight of the order, and its free shipping offer covers personal checks, address labels and checkbook covers only. There is no published business rate table, so you cannot compute a delivered cost.
5. Vistaprint Sells Checks and Publishes No Prices
I nearly left Vistaprint out on the assumption it does not sell checks, because /checks, /business-checks and /personal-checks all return HTTP 404 and its main navigation lists no check category. That assumption was wrong and I am glad I checked.
Vistaprint does sell checks, at /marketing-materials/checks, which returns HTTP 200 and is titled “Order Custom Checks Online: Business & Personal”. It offers Wallet Checks, Wallet Trial Checks, Laser Checks and 3-To-A-Page Checks, with an optional add-on it calls FraudArmor.
What it does not do is publish a price. I read the hub page, the Laser Checks page and the 3-To-A-Page page, and not one of the three contains a single dollar figure in its HTML. Prices appear only after you enter the design and personalisation flow, which means there is nothing a reader can check and nothing I can quote.
That absence is the most useful thing I can tell you about it. If you are leaving Bank Checks Plus because you could not work out the total cost in advance, moving to a vendor that publishes no prices at all is a step in the wrong direction. One detail I could read: its Laser Checks page carries the line “Need more than 2448?”, so that appears to be the top of its configurable range.
Three Vendors I Could Not Reach Today
I want to name these rather than quietly omit them, because two of them are the most obvious alternatives in the category and their absence from my tables is a fact about today, not a judgement about the companies.
Carousel Checks returned HTTP 403 to every automated request I made, including with a search engine crawler user agent, and so did its sitemap. This matters more than the other two because Carousel Checks is the manufacturer behind Bank Checks Plus, which makes it the single most natural place to look when you leave. I could not read one price on it today and I am not going to reproduce one from memory or from a review site.
Checks In The Mail returned HTTP 403 the same way, on both its main domain and the secure. subdomain its redirect lands on. It is the highest volume brand name in this entire category by search demand, and I could read nothing.
Deluxe is the biggest player in business checks and its store is down. Requesting www.deluxe.com/shopdeluxe/ returned HTTP 400 with an Akamai failover page every time I tried it today, both directly and through our affiliate link. No Deluxe figure appears anywhere in this article for that reason. My Deluxe Business Products review covers the company with the same caveat.
A 403 is bot protection rather than an outage, so a human with a browser will very likely reach Carousel Checks and Checks In The Mail without trouble. If you go there, get the price yourself rather than trusting anyone’s published table, mine included.
What I Would Actually Do
If you left Bank Checks Plus over cost or over not being able to see a total, go to Costco Checks and buy 500 laser multi-purpose checks at $60.19 with free Business Standard Trackable shipping. That is a two to three year supply at 12.04 cents a check, delivered, and it is $30.20 less than the Bank Checks Plus check price alone before any shipping is added.
If you left over the security tier, the ranking at 500 checks is Costco Checks at $163.69, then Tech Checks SecuDocs at $179.95, then the Bank Checks Plus hologram line you were already looking at, at $186.44. Costco is cheapest and Tech Checks publishes the most detail about what you are buying.
If you left because you wanted documentation and a vendor that behaves predictably, go to Tech Checks. It costs more than Costco Checks and it is worth it if you value knowing the lead time and the shipping before you commit.
Do not leave over speed. Bank Checks Plus states on its about us page that standard laser orders received by noon ship the same day by FedEx and that it does not charge for same day shipping, and nothing on this list matches that. CheckAdvantage comes closest with In-Plant Rush leaving the warehouse the next business day on orders placed before noon Central.
And if your checks are all small, stay where you are. At 50 checks Bank Checks Plus is $19.20, which is cheaper than Tech Checks at $21.95 and below the smallest quantity Costco Checks and CheckAdvantage will sell you at all.
You are optimising a $60 decision. Go fix the $6,000 one.
The gap between the cheapest and most expensive option here is about $56 on a two year supply of checks. What actually decides whether your store works is which suppliers approve you, and that is the work I do with people directly.
A Note on Why You Are Buying These at All
Checks are a fallback rail for a modern store and the spend should be capped accordingly. Nacha’s ACH network volume and value statistics state, verbatim, “Overall, ACH Network payment volume rose nearly 4.9% from 2024 to 35.2 billion payments in 2025, climbing to an average 141 million daily transactions.”
You need business checks for a supplier who will not take a card at four figures, for a dealer application that wants a voided pre-printed check with your company name on it, and for the odd payment your processor cannot handle. That is tens of checks a year, which is why every recommendation above sits at 500 checks rather than 5,000.
It is also worth knowing that the paper clears as an image now rather than travelling back to your bank. The Federal Reserve’s Check 21 frequently asked questions state, verbatim, “A substitute check is the legal equivalent of the original check and includes all the information contained on the original check.”
The security tier is worth buying because mailed checks are the exposure, and the United States Postal Inspection Service mail fraud guidance is the right primary source on how that theft works. This is general information rather than legal, tax or banking advice, and liability rules vary by state and by your own account agreement.
If the entity behind the bank account is not sorted yet, that comes first, and business formation for high-ticket dropshipping walks through it. Before any of that, be sure the model is right for you by reading what high-ticket dropshipping actually is.
Then pick something worth selling from the high-ticket niches list. The step that decides everything after that is finding suppliers for high-ticket products.
