Selling Online Since 2005.
Building Ecommerce Businesses
Ever Since.
I'm Trevor Fenner. I sold my first products online in 2005, started my first business in 2010, sold my first store in 2015, and had my biggest exit in 2022 for $700,000. Since then I have spent my time helping other people build and scale high-ticket ecommerce businesses, both dropshippers and brands, from wherever they want to live. Right now that is Bali for me.

“I don’t teach this because it made me money. I teach it because it gave me my time back, and time is the thing almost everybody is actually chasing.”
Twenty Years of Selling Things Online
I started selling online in 2005. It was small, scrappy, and nothing I would put on a resume, but it taught me the one lesson everything since has been built on: you can put something in front of a stranger on the internet and get paid for it. Once you know that is true, it is very hard to go back to waiting for a paycheck.
In 2010 I turned that into my first real business. Real customers, real suppliers, real mistakes, and a lot of money spent learning things the slow way. Most of what I teach today traces straight back to those years, because I made almost every mistake personally before I ever wrote a word about it.
The moment the model clicked for me was simple math. Five sales at a $1,500 average order value beats 500 sales at $15, and it is the same amount of work. One of those builds a life. The other builds a second job.
In 2015 I sold my first store. That changed how I saw the whole thing. An ecommerce business is not just income, it is an asset somebody else will pay you for. The same year, I started Ecommerce Paradise to document what was actually working in my stores instead of the recycled advice that was everywhere online.
In 2022 I had my biggest exit, $700,000 for a business I built from nothing. Supplier relationships, SEO, clean Google Shopping campaigns, and years of boring consistency compounded into something a buyer wanted badly enough to write that check.
Since then I have not needed to chase the next store. I spend my time helping other people build theirs.
Twenty Years, One Thread
Every year of this has been a version of the same question: how do I build something that pays me without owning my calendar?
I start selling online
My first sales on the internet. No plan, no mentor, just the realization that the internet will pay you if you put the right thing in front of the right person.
I start my first business
Selling online stops being a side thing and becomes the thing. Real customers, real suppliers, and the expensive education that comes with both.
First store sold, Ecommerce Paradise born
I sell my first store and learn that the business itself is the asset. That same year I start Ecommerce Paradise to share what actually works in live stores.
My biggest exit: $700,000
Years of supplier relationships, SEO, and profitable Shopping campaigns compound into a business worth writing a serious check for.
Helping other people do it
Services, a community with courses and resources, a high-ticket supplier directory, affiliate sites, and a software company. I still run my own stores, because I will not teach something I stopped doing.

The Two Ideas That Changed Everything
High-ticket dropshipping isn’t complicated. It’s the combination of two very simple ideas that most people in ecommerce treat as separate. When you put them together, something clicks.
High-Ticket Products
Sell premium items priced at $500–$5,000+. One sale generates $100–$2,000 in profit. You don’t need volume — you need value. And serious buyers treat their purchase seriously.
Dropshipping
No inventory. No warehouse. No fulfillment. Partner with real U.S. manufacturers and distributors who ship directly to your customer. You market, sell, and collect the margin.
I built my first high-ticket store on Shopify, focused on a single niche I knew had strong buyer intent, reached out to suppliers directly, got approved as a dealer, and drove traffic with Google Shopping ads. Within a few months I had a store generating real revenue — the kind that actually changes your life.
I have been running and building high-ticket stores ever since, through algorithm changes, platform shifts, supplier shakeups, and a couple of ugly economic cycles. The model keeps working because the fundamentals underneath it are sound.
The moment I realized this business was truly location-independent — that I could close a $2,000 sale from a café in Bali or a guest house in Chiang Mai — was the moment everything changed.
The Business Model in Plain English
People sometimes overcomplicate this. Here’s how it actually works, stripped down to the basics.
You build a Shopify store in a high-ticket niche. You reach out to manufacturers and distributors in the USA and get approved as an authorized dealer. You list their products on your store. When a customer buys, you place the order with the supplier, they ship direct to the customer, and you keep the difference between your retail price and the wholesale cost.
No inventory. No shipping. No warehouse lease. Just a professional store, real supplier relationships, good traffic, and excellent customer service.
Choose a High-Ticket Niche
Find a product category with $500+ average order values, real buyer intent, and established brands willing to work with dealers.
Build Your Shopify Store
Professional design, optimized product pages, trust signals — a real business front end that gets suppliers and customers to trust you.
Get Approved as a Dealer
Reach out to manufacturers and distributors directly. Apply for dealer accounts. Get access to wholesale pricing and product catalogs.
Drive Traffic & Make Sales
Google Shopping ads are the fastest path to high-intent buyers. SEO builds long-term organic revenue. Both together create a durable business.
Fulfill, Scale, and Exit
Deliver great customer service. Recruit more suppliers. Expand your catalog. Build an asset worth 2–3x annual net profit — then sell if you choose.
The Real Pros and Cons
I’m not here to sell you a dream. High-ticket dropshipping is genuinely one of the best business models I’ve found — but it’s not for everyone. Here is my honest assessment after fifteen years of running real stores.
- One sale generates real profit — $100 to $2,000+ per order
- No inventory, no warehouse, no fulfillment headaches
- 100% location independent — run it from anywhere
- Serious buyers mean fewer refunds and less support drama
- Scalable without proportional time investment
- Work with real U.S. brands — not overseas factories
- Builds a sellable asset worth 2–3x annual net profit
- High barrier to entry keeps competition manageable
- You own your store, supplier relationships, and data
- Pairs perfectly with a freedom-first lifestyle
- Upfront investment required — store build, ads, and time
- Supplier approval takes effort — credibility matters
- 4–6 months before consistent monthly net profit
- Ongoing ad spend needed for consistent sales
- High-ticket customers have high expectations — service matters
- Must operate as a real business — LLC, tax ID, business accounts
- Not passive income — you are the CEO, and that’s real work
- Niche selection mistakes are costly — research matters
- Platform dependency on Shopify and Google means following their rules
- Some niches are saturated — pick smart from the start
Twenty Years In, and I Still Like the Work
Most people try a business model for a year and move on. I have been selling online since 2005 and building high-ticket stores for well over a decade. Here is why I never left.
It’s Truly Location-Free
I manage stores from Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan — wherever I am. No one cares where you are. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection. That’s not a cliché — it’s literally my daily reality.
The Economics Are Just Better
After years of grinding on low-margin products, high-ticket completely rewired how I think about effort and return. Five sales at $1,500 average order value outperforms 500 sales at $15. Same energy, completely different life.
You Build a Real Asset
A high-ticket store isn’t just income — it’s a business you can sell. I’ve seen clients exit at 2–3x annual net profit. That’s wealth, not just cash flow. Low-ticket arbitrage doesn’t give you that.
Real Supplier Relationships
I love working with actual manufacturers and brands — companies that have been around for decades, make quality products, and treat their dealers well. It feels like a real business because it is one.
It Gets Better With Time
The longer you run a store, the more SEO you’ve built, the more supplier relationships you have, the more organic traffic finds you. This is a compounding business — unlike ads-only models that stop the moment you pause spend.
It Fits Around Life
I skateboard most mornings. I travel through Indonesia, Thailand, and across SE Asia whenever I want. My stores don’t care. That kind of lifestyle alignment — where the business serves your life — is everything.
Why I Started Ecommerce Paradise — and Why I’m Still Here
By 2015 the model was working for me, and people started asking how. The information out there was either wrong, vague, or quietly pushing beginners toward low-margin strategies that were never going to give anyone freedom. So I started writing down exactly what I was doing in my own stores.
The blog, the podcast, and the YouTube channel all came from that. Not theory, and not recycled advice from someone who made money selling a course and then stopped operating. Real systems from someone still in the work every day.
Then people asked if I would just build it for them. So I did. Then they wanted coaching, ads, SEO, suppliers. Ecommerce Paradise grew into what it is now: done-for-you builds, scaling and ads services, private coaching, a community with courses and resources, and a high-ticket supplier directory.
The mission has never moved: help people build location-independent businesses that give them the freedom to live however they want. Everything here points back to that.
Free Education First
The blog, podcast, YouTube, and resources are free and always will be. Give real value before asking for anything.

The Businesses Behind the Advice

Affiliate and Review Sites
I run content and affiliate sites too, including Trevor’s Reviews and Electric Bikes Paradise. They keep me honest about SEO, because the tactics have to work on my own properties first.
My Personal Blog
At trevorfenner.com I write about everything that does not fit here: how I actually use AI day to day, systems, travel, and running businesses from the other side of the world.
Ecommerce Is the Vehicle, Not the Point
I am not here to turn everybody into a dropshipper. Ecommerce just happens to be the most accessible vehicle I have found for the thing people actually want: control over where they live, who they answer to, and what they do with a Tuesday.
Most people I talk to are not chasing a yacht. They want to work from home instead of a commute. They want to take the trip without asking permission. They want to be around for their kids, or move abroad, or simply stop trading the best hours of their life for a salary somebody else sets. That is a skills problem more than a money problem, and skills can be taught.
My job is to shorten the distance between where you are and the specific thing you are missing, whether that is a niche, a supplier, a working ad account, or the confidence to send the first dealer application.
So everything here is built around that: free education first, honest numbers, real systems from live stores, and services for the people who want it done with them or for them. If you never buy anything from me and you still build a business that sets you free, that is a win as far as I am concerned.
A bit about the rest of my life
I live in Bali. I skateboard most mornings, travel through Indonesia, Thailand, and the rest of Southeast Asia whenever I feel like it, and share a desk with cats who are convinced the laptop belongs to them. I work in long focused blocks and then close it. That balance is the whole reason I built the business this way, and it is the thing I most want other people to have.

Built to Help Others Achieve the Same Freedom
The most meaningful part of all of this isn’t the revenue I’ve generated personally. It’s watching other people — people who were exactly where I was back when I started — cross the same threshold. Leave the job. Book the flight. Close the laptop somewhere in Southeast Asia and realize the store is still running.
That’s what drives Ecommerce Paradise. Not the products, not the services — the transformation.
