Best DHgate Alternatives in 2026

DHgate has been named in every edition of the US Trade Representative’s Notorious Markets List from 2021 through 2025. That fact alone should shape how you use it. I have been running ecommerce businesses since October 2010, and for most of that time my stores have sold $1,000 to $5,000 products from US and EU brands that ship domestically. For a store like that, DHgate is almost never the right supplier.

That does not make DHgate useless. It is a cheap way to get a physical sample in your hands, to buy low-ticket add-ons such as spare parts and accessories, and to stock packaging, inserts and props for product photos. What it cannot do is supply the anchor product on a $3,000 page, where your customer expects a real brand, a warranty and delivery in days.

So this article splits the alternatives into two groups. The first is the answer I would give almost every reader of this site: authorized domestic suppliers, found with the supplier method I teach, plus the directories that shorten that search. The second is the honest comparison you probably searched for: the other China marketplaces and the dropshipping apps people cross-shop against DHgate.

I read each vendor’s own pages on 22 September 2026 before writing a single figure. Several would not load for me. DHgate’s homepage, buyer help and buyer protection pages returned an access block to every request I made, and so did Faire and AliExpress. 1688 would not render, and Tundra served a security certificate that expired in 2024. Where a page was unreachable I say so and quote nothing from it. Every price below is in US dollars, before tax.

Start Your Supplier Shortlist With Real Brands, Not Marketplace Sellers

The Supplier Paradise directory lists 11,029 brand, manufacturer and distributor research leads across 886 product niches. Access is $9 a month or $49 a year.

DHgate Alternatives at a Glance (2026)

This table puts DHgate first for reference, then the alternatives in the order I would recommend them to a high-ticket store owner. The cost column only shows figures I read on the vendor’s own page today.

Alternative What it is Best for What it costs
DHgate China wholesale marketplace Unbranded samples, spares, packaging Buyer pages blocked, not verified
Authorized domestic suppliers US and EU brands and distributors you apply to The anchor product on a high-ticket store No fee to apply, but approval takes paperwork

Worldwide Brands Directory of certified wholesalers Finding US wholesalers and dropshippers $197 lifetime or $119 for one year
SaleHoo Vetted global supplier directory Low-ticket and mid-ticket product research From $9 a month billed yearly, or $299 once
Wholesale Central US wholesale directory Free browsing of US wholesalers Free buyer account
Faire Wholesale marketplace for retailers Small-batch boutique products Site blocked, not verified
Alibaba China B2B marketplace Factory orders and private label MOQ set per listing
Made-in-China.com China B2B marketplace Industrial and machinery sourcing Not published on the pages I read
Global Sources B2B platform and Hong Kong trade shows Meeting suppliers in person Free buyer registration
1688 through a sourcing agent Chinese domestic wholesale site Factory pricing with an agent doing QC Agent fees vary, 1688 not readable

CJdropshipping Sourcing and fulfillment service Low-ticket add-ons with warehousing Fees per service, published on its fee page
Spocket Dropshipping app with US and EU suppliers Faster-shipping low-ticket catalog items From $39.99 a month

That is thirteen alternatives plus DHgate. Each figure is sourced in its own section below. If you want the full picture on DHgate itself first, read my DHgate review covering the counterfeit and customs risks.

Why DHgate Is the Wrong Supplier for a $1,000 to $5,000 Store

Start with what the federal government says. The 2025 edition of the USTR Review of Notorious Markets for Counterfeiting and Piracy lists dhgate.com again. Its DHgate entry states: “As DHgate has increased its popularity with consumers, resellers continue to use the platform to purchase counterfeit goods wholesale from China.”

Be precise about who is speaking in the rest of that entry. It records that some stakeholders continue to observe DHgate remains a significant source of counterfeits that are easy to find in search results. The same entry also records that some stakeholders reported a good relationship with the platform and acknowledged its investment in a permanent IP enforcement program. Both are true, and both mean the screening job lands on you.

Now apply that to a high-ticket store. Your customers buy recognized brands, and a recognized brand at a marketplace price is almost always the problem USTR is describing. A $3,000 order also needs a warranty, a returns path and a supplier who answers the phone in your time zone. A marketplace seller in another country offers none of that.

Then there is customs. U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s interim final rule on the de minimis suspension, effective 24 June 2026, says entries of merchandise valued at $800 or less arriving by modes other than the postal network must use formal or informal entry. The same rule notes that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act terminated the de minimis exemption effective 1 July 2027. Every small parcel you import now carries entry paperwork and duty. This is general information, not customs or legal advice, and the rules differ by country and product.

Where DHgate Still Fits

I still use DHgate, and so can you, for three narrow jobs.

  • Samples. One unbranded unit to check build quality, dimensions and packaging before you approach a real supplier in that category.
  • Low-ticket add-ons. Hose kits, casters, remotes, covers and other commodity parts your customers ask for, where nobody is paying for a brand name.
  • Packaging and props. Inserts, thank you cards, tissue and the props you use in product photography.

Keep away from anything branded and anything safety-critical. If you do buy, my guide on vetting a DHgate wholesale supplier before you order walks through the nine checks I run on every seller.

How I Chose and Checked These Alternatives

I picked the platforms people actually compare with DHgate, then added the domestic options that I think matter more for this audience. For each one I opened its pricing, fee, protection or membership pages and read the raw page, not a summary.

These pages would not load for me on 22 September 2026, so I publish no figures from them: DHgate’s homepage, buyer help, buyer protection and sitemap pages, every Faire page including its help centre and sitemap, AliExpress, and the 1688 homepage. Tundra’s site served a certificate that expired on 17 October 2024, so I could not open it at all.

Four of these alternatives pay me a commission: DHgate, SaleHoo, CJdropshipping and Spocket. Supplier Paradise is part of Ecommerce Paradise. The order below is the order I would recommend them to a high-ticket store owner, which puts the free domestic route first.

The Best DHgate Alternatives for a High-Ticket Store

1. Authorized Domestic Suppliers: The Real Answer

The best alternative to DHgate for a store selling $1,000 to $5,000 products is not another marketplace. It is a dealer agreement with a US or EU brand, manufacturer or distributor that already ships domestically. You list their products, send them the order, and they ship to your customer under their warranty.

That is the model my students and my own stores run on. It costs nothing to apply, but it does take paperwork: a business entity, an EIN, a professional website and a clear pitch. My step-by-step guide to finding high-ticket dropshipping suppliers covers the whole method, from building a target list to the email that gets a reply.

If you have not set up the company yet, read my guide to business formation for high-ticket dropshipping first. Suppliers ask for those details on the application.

2. Supplier Paradise: A Shortlist of High-Ticket Brands

Supplier Paradise is our own directory, so treat this section as a disclosure as much as a recommendation. The Supplier Paradise homepage lists three paid options:

  • Supplier Directory: $9 a month or $49 a year
  • Directory plus Monthly Coaching: $97 a month, with one 60-minute private call each month
  • Done-for-You Supplier Recruiting: $997 a month, with a DFY50 code that makes the first month $498.50, valid through 27 August 2027

The directory holds 11,029 brand, manufacturer and distributor research leads across 886 product niches, with outreach scripts. The page is also blunt about what it is not. It says a listing does not mean a company dropships or approves every dealer application. That is the right way to think about any supplier list, including the ones below.

3. Worldwide Brands: Certified Wholesalers, One Payment

Worldwide Brands is a directory, not a marketplace. You find a wholesaler there and then open an account with that wholesaler directly. The Worldwide Brands order page shows two prices: $197 for lifetime access or $119 for one year. It also offers a payment plan of $99 today, then $110 at 30 days and $110 at 60 days, which comes to $319 ($99 + $110 + $110).

Its membership FAQ publishes two different guarantees on the same page, a 60-day satisfaction guarantee in one answer and a 30 day satisfaction guarantee in the next. Plan against the 30 days. I cover the directory in more depth in my Worldwide Brands review.

4. SaleHoo: Vetted Suppliers for Lower-Ticket Products

SaleHoo is a supplier directory with research tools on top. Its SaleHoo pricing page lists these plans:

  • Starter: $9 a month billed annually, or a one-time payment of $299
  • Pro: $49 a month billed annually, or a one-time payment of $1,699
  • Enterprise: $499 a month billed annually on a one-year term

Starter lets you contact up to 100 suppliers a month. SaleHoo describes its directory as 8,000+ vetted global suppliers, so not all of them ship from the US. For a high-ticket store it is a research tool rather than a source of brand dealer agreements. To compare it with the field, read my roundup of SaleHoo alternatives. If it already fits, compare SaleHoo’s plans on its own site.

5. Wholesale Central: The Free US Directory

Wholesale Central calls itself America’s wholesale hub since 1997 on the Wholesale Central homepage, and buyers sign up free. It is a directory of US wholesalers, and in my read of its category list it skews towards general merchandise such as apparel, gifts and dollar-store goods rather than high-ticket brands.

It is worth an afternoon if you sell accessories alongside a bigger product. My Wholesale Central review covers how to use it without wasting time.

6. Faire: Worth a Look, but I Could Not Verify It

Faire is a wholesale marketplace that connects independent brands with retail stores, and it is a common suggestion in DHgate alternative lists. Every Faire page I requested, including its help centre and sitemap, returned an access block. I am not going to repeat minimum order or payment terms I could not read, so check them on Faire’s own site before you rely on them.

Tundra is the other name that often appears here. Its site served a security certificate that expired on 17 October 2024, so I could not open a single page. I would not send you there until that changes.

Only Need a Cheap Sample Before You Pitch a Real Supplier?

That is the one job DHgate does well. Order one unbranded unit, check the build and the packaging, and skip anything carrying a logo you recognize.

China Marketplace Alternatives to DHgate

If you do need to source from China, for private label or for parts, these are the platforms people compare with DHgate. None of them solves the brand and warranty problem for a high-ticket store, but some solve the quality control problem better.

7. Alibaba: Factory Orders and Private Label

Alibaba is built for bulk purchase orders placed directly with factories. Minimum order quantities are set on each listing. Its homepage describes Trade Assurance, Alibaba’s order protection, with one line: “Enjoy protection from payment to delivery.” The fuller terms sit behind a login, so read them there before you place an order.

Alibaba also runs Accio, an AI sourcing agent that helps separate real manufacturers from trading companies. I compared the two in Accio vs Alibaba. On the counterfeit question, the 2025 USTR list names Taobao, Alibaba’s consumer platform in China, but it does not list alibaba.com as a notorious market.

8. Made-in-China.com: Escrow-Style Secured Trading

Made-in-China.com opens its category menu with manufacturing and processing machinery, which makes it worth a look for a heavy-equipment store sourcing spare parts. Its Secured Trading Service page has you pay Made-in-China.com rather than the supplier. It then states: “The supplier will ship the products and the payment will then release to the supplier.”

The same page links to its audited supplier program, a refund policy and a service guarantee. I found no buyer fee on the pages I read, but I did not read every page on the site, so treat that as unconfirmed.

9. Global Sources: Meet Suppliers Before You Pay Them

Global Sources is the option I like best for serious China sourcing, because it runs physical trade shows. Its homepage lists the October 2026 Hong Kong shows at AsiaWorld-Expo, from 11 to 14 October and from 18 to 21 October, and says the suppliers you meet there are verified. Buyer registration is free.

Meeting a factory owner in person, with samples on the table, filters out more bad suppliers than any online rating. If you are building a private label line alongside a high-ticket store, that trip can pay for itself.

10. 1688 Through a Sourcing Agent

1688 is a Chinese-language wholesale site, which is why most foreign buyers reach it through a sourcing agent who buys, inspects and consolidates for them. The 1688 homepage would not render for me, so I publish nothing from it, and agent fees vary by agent.

If you are weighing this route, start with my guide to switching from AliExpress to a sourcing agent. My list of the best China sourcing agents for Shopify stores compares the agents themselves.

11. AliExpress: Single Units, Consumer Terms

AliExpress sells single units to consumers, so it overlaps with DHgate’s one-unit appeal. Its site returned a bot challenge to every request I made, so I quote no terms from it. The USTR history is worth knowing, though. AliExpress was named in the 2021 and 2022 Notorious Markets Lists and does not appear in the 2023, 2024 or 2025 editions.

The 2021 Notorious Markets List describes the platform this way: “Sellers on AliExpress provide wholesale offerings and order fulfillment services for dropshipping retailers that do not maintain their own inventory.”

For a closer comparison, read my SaleHoo vs AliExpress breakdown.

Dropshipping Apps That Replace DHgate for Low-Ticket Add-Ons

These two are the closest thing to a DHgate replacement for accessories and add-ons you want shipped straight to a customer. Neither is where I would source the main product on a $3,000 page.

12. CJdropshipping: Warehousing for Add-Ons

CJdropshipping sources products, holds stock and ships orders, including from warehouses outside China. Its CJdropshipping service fee page says that to ship products to its overseas warehouses the MOQ is no less than 10 pieces per variant and 100 pieces in total. It also advertises 90 days of free storage in its China and US warehouses.

The same page lists reference freight from China to the US, such as 10 to 15 days by ordinary air at $7.50 per kilogram, and says those rates are for reference only and change in real time. It lists warehouse, inbound and freight fees, and no monthly subscription. My CJdropshipping review goes further. To see live quotes, open a CJdropshipping account.

13. Spocket: US and EU Suppliers, Faster Shipping

Spocket says it connects you with top-rated US and EU suppliers. The Spocket pricing page lists four plans billed monthly, each after a 7-day trial:

  • Starter: $39.99 a month
  • Professional: $59.99 a month, or $24 a month billed annually
  • Empire: $99.99 a month, or $57 a month billed annually
  • Unicorn: $299.99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually

Do not assume every product arrives in two days. Spocket’s help article on how long shipping takes says shipping time varies from product to product, and its worked example takes 6 to 10 business days to a US customer. Check the processing and shipping time on each listing, or start a Spocket trial and look for yourself.

My Spocket alternatives comparison covers the rest of this category, including the platforms that ship from outside the US.

Which DHgate Alternative Fits Your Situation?

You are building a high-ticket store

Go to authorized domestic suppliers. Use Supplier Paradise or Worldwide Brands to build the list, then apply to each brand yourself. If you have not picked a category yet, work through my list of high-ticket niches before you contact anyone.

You want accessories and add-ons to sell alongside it

Spocket for US and EU suppliers, or CJdropshipping if you are willing to stock at least 100 pieces in one of its warehouses. Wholesale Central is the free place to look for US accessory wholesalers.

You want a private label product made

Alibaba or Global Sources, ideally with a sourcing agent who inspects before shipping. Budget for duty on every shipment now that de minimis is suspended.

You only need one sample

This is where DHgate or AliExpress still make sense. Buy one unbranded unit, on platform, and document the unboxing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best alternative to DHgate?

For a store selling $1,000 to $5,000 products, authorized domestic suppliers found through a direct outreach method. For marketplace sourcing from China, Alibaba or Global Sources. For low-ticket add-ons shipped to your customer, Spocket or CJdropshipping.

Is there a site like DHgate that ships from the US?

Spocket focuses on US and EU suppliers, and CJdropshipping lists a US warehouse. Wholesale Central and Worldwide Brands list US wholesalers, but you buy from each wholesaler directly rather than through the directory.

Is DHgate on the USTR Notorious Markets List?

Yes. DHgate has an entry in every edition from 2021 through 2025, the latest one at the time of writing.

Which DHgate alternatives are free to use?

Wholesale Central and Global Sources both offer free buyer registration. Authorized suppliers cost nothing to apply to. SaleHoo, Worldwide Brands, Supplier Paradise and Spocket charge for access.

Can I dropship high-ticket products from any of these marketplaces?

Not well. High-ticket customers expect a known brand, a warranty and fast domestic delivery, which you get from a dealer agreement with the brand or its distributor.

My Verdict on the Best DHgate Alternatives

DHgate is a useful sample shop and a poor supplier. Every edition of the USTR list since 2021 names it, the de minimis rules have put entry paperwork and duty on every small parcel, and it gives a high-ticket customer none of the brand, warranty or delivery promise they are paying for.

So my picks are short. For your main product, authorized domestic suppliers, with Supplier Paradise or Worldwide Brands to speed up the list. For accessories and add-ons, Spocket or CJdropshipping. For private label, Global Sources or Alibaba with an agent. And for one cheap sample, DHgate is still fine, as long as there is no logo on it.

The hard part of this business has never been finding a website with products on it. It is getting a real brand to say yes. If you are new to the model, start with what high-ticket dropshipping actually is.

Skip the Supplier Hunt and Launch With Approved US Suppliers

My team builds your Shopify store, recruits 10, 15 or 30 approved US suppliers depending on your package, and coaches you bi-weekly for three months starting the day your ads launch.
