Affiliate disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Full disclosure

I could not find a LegalZoom promo code that LegalZoom itself publishes in October 2026, and I am not going to give you a made-up one. What I can verify is smaller and more useful: a $0 Basic LLC package (you still pay state fees), a built-in 10% off other LegalZoom products inside some paid plans, a first-time price on registered agent service, and a refund policy with firm cutoffs.

I have been in ecommerce for 15+ years, and at Ecommerce Paradise I treat a discount the way I treat a supplier promise: if I cannot see the terms, I do not count the savings. If you are forming a company before you launch a store, my guide on what high-ticket dropshipping is explains the business that entity will actually run.

This article draws on LegalZoom’s own LLC, estate plan, registered agent, attorney plan and guarantee pages, plus NerdWallet, the SBA, the IRS and the USPTO, all read in October 2026. I did not place an order or reach a LegalZoom checkout screen for this piece, so I report what the pages say and flag what I could not see. This is general information, not personalized legal or financial advice, and I am not a lawyer or licensed advisor.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission if you sign up through my LegalZoom link, at no extra cost to you. I could not confirm that my link adds any discount or changes how a promo code behaves. The page it opens, as I read it in October 2026, is LegalZoom’s regular business formation page with the usual “Starts at $0” pricing and no code shown, so treat the link as a way to start an order and not as a coupon.

Is There a LegalZoom Coupon Code in 2026?

Not one I could verify. LegalZoom’s home page, LLC page, will page, trust page, registered agent page and attorney plan page all showed prices and built-in extras, but no page showed a code to type in. I also tried common promotions and support addresses on LegalZoom’s site, and they returned errors (the “gone” kind, which can also be what an automated request gets back), and LegalZoom’s public sitemaps list no promo or coupon page. That does not prove that no offer exists, only that I could not read one.

Independent coverage points the same way. NerdWallet’s LegalZoom review, published March 17, 2026 and updated in April, covers pricing, the guarantee and complaints about upsells and renewals, and it names no coupon code.

That matters because “LegalZoom coupon” is a high-volume search, and plenty of sites will promise you a code. I would not rely on any of them without seeing the discount in the order summary before you pay.

The Discounts LegalZoom Actually Documents

Five things are worth knowing about, and only some of them behave like a discount. The rest are pricing structure, which is why they are easy to overstate.

The $0 Basic LLC Package

LegalZoom’s LLC page lists three packages: Basic at $0, Managed Service at $249 and Expert Service at $999, each plus state filing fees. The Basic package files your articles of organization with the state and includes a company name check and a tax consult from 1-800Accountant, according to the page. If you only need the filing done, you can start with the Basic LLC package.

The SBA says that in most cases the total cost to register a business is less than $300, though fees vary by state and business structure, according to its register your business guide. So the state fee is the part of the bill LegalZoom cannot discount, and it is outside any code.

The Built-In 10% Off

LegalZoom’s Premium estate plan packages and its Business Attorney Plan both list “10% off LegalZoom products” and “25% off attorney services.” The attorney page words the first one as 10% off filings, trademarks and other LegalZoom services. The attorney plan’s FAQ adds that subscribers get 10% off “most” LegalZoom products, applied automatically at checkout with no code needed. I could not see which products are excluded, and I did not find a matching FAQ on the estate plan pages, so confirm it on the checkout screen of whatever you plan to buy.

Here is the catch. You do not get this discount for free, because it is a perk of a paid plan. A Premium Will is $299 for one person, and the Business Attorney Plan is $469 on the 12 month term, so the discount only matters if you want the plan for its own sake.

The First-Time Registered Agent Price

LegalZoom’s registered agent page shows $249 a year, with a note that the purchase price is only available for first-time registered agent customers. It also says the service auto-renews at the purchase rate each year until you cancel, and that the renewal rate is subject to change. Read that as a first-year price you should not assume lasts forever.

If you are forming an LLC in the state where you live, you can sometimes act as your own agent. The SBA says a registered agent must be located in the state where you register, and that many owners prefer a service over doing it themselves. My guide to forming an LLC for a high-ticket dropshipping store covers how I think about that choice.

Free Tools Next to the Paid Ones

LegalZoom has a free trademark search tool. Its page says the free tool only finds exact matches with the USPTO, and it sells a more thorough federal search at $199 and a federal, state and common law search at $299.

The EIN is a bigger one. The IRS says you can get an EIN directly from the IRS for free, and it adds: “Beware of websites that charge for an EIN.” LegalZoom lists an EIN service at $79, describes it as filling out your application and filing it with the IRS, and bundles an EIN into Managed Service. That is a convenience fee, so decide whether you want it. The IRS’s EIN page explains the free route.

The Filing Guarantee and Refund Window

LegalZoom advertises a “100% Accurate Filing Guarantee” on the LLC page: if your filing is rejected or incorrect due to its error, it corrects it at no additional cost to you. That is not a refund. It is a promise to fix its own mistakes, and the refund rules are on a separate page covered below.

How to Check for a Discount at Checkout

I could not view a live LegalZoom checkout, so I cannot tell you where, or whether, a promo box appears. These steps are how I would approach it, and menus change, so follow what your screen shows.

  1. Pick the package first on the product page, and write down the price shown there, including the “plus state filing fees” note.
  2. Use the LegalZoom link to start, then watch whether the price on the order summary changes from what you wrote down.
  3. If a promo code box appears, enter a code only from a source you trust, and read the summary before you submit the order.
  4. Look for add-ons that were pre-selected, such as expedited processing, registered agent service or a subscription, and remove what you do not want.
  5. Check the subscription terms. Managed Service includes 30 days of the advisor plan and then charges $49 a month unless you cancel, and Expert Service charges $99 a month after 30 days.
  6. Take a screenshot of the final summary so you have the price you agreed to.

If a discount shows only after payment, or an add-on you did not pick shows up on a card statement, contact LegalZoom right away. The guarantee page says you can chat or call to request a refund in the eligible window.

What LegalZoom Really Costs: The Math

Here are the LLC packages as the page showed them, and what each adds after the first 30 days. The last column is my own arithmetic, not a LegalZoom quote, and it excludes your state filing fee.

LLC package LegalZoom price What the page says is included After 30 days if you do nothing My rough first-year total
Basic $0 Name check, state filing, tax consult from 1-800Accountant No subscription listed $0
Managed Service $249 Basic, plus EIN, operating agreement, advisor access for 30 days, licenses and permits report, 150+ documents $49 a month About $788 (11 further months)
Expert Service $999 Managed, plus attorney review, attorney and tax access for 30 days, annual tax prep, bookkeeping $99 a month About $2,088 (11 further months)

The yearly figures assume you never cancel, so they are a worst case and not what you must pay. Cancel inside 30 days and the totals fall back to $249 and $999. The page says you can cancel online or by phone.

Now the discount math. A 10% discount on a $249 package is $24.90, and on a $999 package it is $99.90, if it applies to those packages at all. A Premium Will at $299 costs $170 more than the $129 Basic Will, and the Business Attorney Plan costs $469. By my arithmetic, neither perk pays for itself through the discount alone.

Here are a few add-on prices from LegalZoom’s own pages, for planning:

  • EIN service: $79 (the IRS application is free).
  • Operating agreement: $99 standard, or $199 rush.
  • Registered agent service: $249 a year, first-time purchase price.
  • Trademark registration: $899 plus federal fees, with 3 months of trademark monitoring included that renews at $249 a year unless you cancel.
  • Will estate plans: $129 Basic, $149 Pro and $299 Premium for one person.
  • Living trust estate plans: $399 Basic and $549 Premium for one person.

For the trademark number, the USPTO’s fee page says the base application filing fee is $350 per class of goods or services. My guide on how to trademark a business name or logo walks through when that spending makes sense.

Put it next to what a store costs to run. If you plan to use a plain Basic LLC, add the free IRS EIN and a $99 operating agreement, and your LegalZoom spend is $99 before the state fee. By my arithmetic that is $150 less than Managed Service at $249, but you give up the advisor, the permits report and the document library.

Worried the Real Price Is Higher Than the Headline?

Managed Service is $249 and then $49 a month after 30 days unless you cancel, Basic is $0 plus state fees, and a $99 operating agreement is a separate line. Decide your package on the product page, then confirm every line on the order summary.

Where the Sources Disagree

A few details do not line up, and you should know about them before you rely on any single page.

What Are the Middle and Top LLC Packages Called?

LegalZoom’s own LLC page shows Basic at $0, Managed Service at $249 and Expert Service at $999. NerdWallet’s 2026 review calls the paid tiers a Pro plan for $249 and a Premium plan for $299. I trust LegalZoom’s page for the current names and prices, but the gap shows that review pages age quickly, so confirm the package on the product page.

Is It a 60 Day Money-Back Guarantee?

NerdWallet lists a “60-day money back satisfaction guarantee” among LegalZoom’s pros. LegalZoom’s own guarantee page is narrower: for filed products such as LLCs, you can request a refund within 60 days of purchase only if the order has not been submitted to the government agency. Once documents are submitted, it says it no longer issues a refund. The guarantee page I read shows an update date of October 21, 2025.

Does the 10% Apply to Everything?

The estate plan pages say “10% off LegalZoom products,” and the attorney page says “10% off filings, trademarks, and other LegalZoom services.” The attorney plan FAQ says “most” products and no code, which means some items are left out, and I could not see the list. I would not plan a purchase around saving on one specific item until I had seen it in the order summary.

How Coupon Sites Work and Why to Be Careful

Coupon sites earn money from clicks, which is a reason to check what they show you. I could not verify a single percent-off LegalZoom code against a LegalZoom page, so I will not list one. A code that does not appear in the order summary before you pay is not a discount.

Use these tests before you trust one:

  • It should change the price on the order summary before you submit payment.
  • The terms should say which products it covers, because a code for one product may not work on another.
  • It should not ask for anything beyond an order, such as your payment details on another site.

Also be careful with the word “free.” LegalZoom’s Basic package is $0 for its service, but your state filing fee is real money, and an add-on you accept at checkout is real money too. My earlier LegalZoom pricing breakdown shows how those pieces add up, but it still uses the older Pro and Premium package names and an older trial price, so trust the package names and prices in this article and confirm them on LegalZoom’s page.

Renewals and Auto-Renewing Subscriptions

This is where most formation bills grow. LegalZoom’s own footnotes say the advisor plan in Managed Service renews at $49 a month after 30 days, and the Expert plan renews at $99 a month, unless you cancel. The registered agent service renews yearly at the purchase rate, and the rate is subject to change.

The Will Pro plan also includes 30 days of attorney consultations that renew at $25 a month, and the Premium plans renew at $199 a year, according to LegalZoom’s will page. NerdWallet’s review mentions “recurring billing” and “surprise renewals” among the complaints in negative customer reviews, so put a calendar reminder on the day your included 30 days end.

Then keep the business side tidy. Put every subscription on a business account in your company’s name instead of a personal card, and my business formation guide explains how that foundation fits together before you pay for tools.

Refunds and the Guarantee

LegalZoom’s guarantee page splits refunds by product type, and the cutoffs are firm. Check the category of what you ordered before you click buy.

  • Filed products, such as LLC and corporation formations: a refund within 60 days of purchase, as long as the order has not been submitted to the agency.
  • Non-filed products, such as operating agreements and estate plans: a refund within 60 days of purchase if the order is not completed, or 7 days after it is completed.
  • Subscription services: a refund within 30 days of the initial purchase, unless an exception applies.

The page adds that refunds do not include third-party processing fees, and that LegalZoom cannot refund filing fees once it submits your paperwork to the government. If you buy several products together, the whole order is not refundable once any of them has been submitted. Estate plans are refundable up to 7 days after the first estate plan product is completed.

So the clock is short on the things you are most likely to want back. If you are unsure, do not start a filed product until you are ready for it to be submitted.

Who Should Skip LegalZoom or the Coupon Chase

Do not build your plan around a code if any of these fit you:

  • You only need the state filing, since the Basic package is $0 and there is no price to cut.
  • You are weighing a plan for the 10% perk, since it does not pay for itself on the math above.
  • You want one fixed, quoted price for everything, since LegalZoom’s page layers on add-ons and subscriptions.
  • You are filing a trademark and have not run a proper search first.

If price is the sticking point, compare the field before you choose. NerdWallet notes that Bizee’s basic plan also includes free LLC formation (you still pay state filing fees) and that Rocket Lawyer business legal plans start at $34.99 a month or $199 a year, so it pays to look at alternatives such as ZenBusiness and Northwest Registered Agent too. My LegalZoom alternatives guide covers who each one suits.

A cheaper first year is not a cheaper business. Compare year-two registered agent pricing, renewals and what happens when you want to cancel. LegalZoom is also not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, except through its subsidiary law firm, according to the footer of its own pages, so for a real legal question, talk to a licensed attorney.

Do You Even Need LegalZoom for an Ecommerce Store?

That is the better question than which code to use. The SBA says an LLC protects you from personal liability in most instances, according to its business structure guide, which is why I like having one before the first order lands. But the entity is the smaller decision.

If you have not picked what to sell yet, start with my high-ticket niches list, because the niche decides how much you need to protect. Then work on suppliers, because a dealer agreement is a contract you should read carefully, and my supplier guide shows what to ask for before you sign one.

This is where an attorney plan can earn its keep, since a contract review is a different thing from a coupon. My post on why every ecommerce business needs legal support before it scales covers when I think that spending is worth it.

My Verdict on LegalZoom Coupons in 2026

I could not verify a LegalZoom promo code, so I would not pay for or wait on one. The real savings are the ones LegalZoom documents: a $0 Basic LLC package, a first-time registered agent price, and a 10% perk if you buy a plan for other reasons. If the Basic package covers you, start your LLC with LegalZoom and confirm every line before you pay.

The order I suggest is simple. Decide the package on the product page, use the link to start, read the order summary line by line, and cancel any 30 day subscription you do not want before it renews. If a discount appears in the summary, great, and if it does not, you still know what you are paying.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a working LegalZoom promo code in 2026?
I could not verify one. I found no code on LegalZoom’s own pages and none in NerdWallet’s 2026 review. If you find one, enter it at checkout and confirm the price changes in the order summary before you pay.

Is a LegalZoom LLC really $0?
LegalZoom’s LLC page lists the Basic package at $0 plus state filing fees, and it covers the state filing, a name check and a tax consult. The state fee still applies, and add-ons cost extra. If that fits, you can look at the Basic LLC package and read the order summary.

Does LegalZoom give a first-time customer discount?
Only in one place I could verify. Its registered agent page says the $249 purchase price is only available for first-time registered agent customers. I did not find a general first-order discount, so check the order summary before you pay.

Can I get a refund from LegalZoom?
Sometimes. For filed products such as LLCs, LegalZoom’s guarantee page allows a request within 60 days if the order has not been submitted to the agency, and subscriptions have a 30 day window. Once paperwork is submitted, it says it will no longer issue a refund.

Do I need LegalZoom to form an LLC?
No. The SBA’s guide walks through registering your business with your state, and the IRS says an EIN is free when you apply directly with the IRS. LegalZoom sells convenience and support on top of that, so choose it for the service and not for a coupon.
