🚨 BREAKING TODAY: Thailand’s Cabinet just approved scrapping the 60-day visa-free stay for most nationalities, rolling it back to 30 days under a new “one country, one entitlement” rule.
Welcome to today’s Paradise Report. This is the daily read for small ecommerce founders and location-independent entrepreneurs, the folks running or building Shopify, Amazon, eBay, and high-ticket dropshipping stores from wherever they happen to be logged in this morning. Some of you are reading this from a home office in Texas. Some of you are reading it from a coworking desk in Bangkok or a cafe in Da Nang. Wherever you are, the goal here is the same one I use when I look at my own stores and my clients’ stores over at Ecommerce Paradise: cut the noise and answer one question. Does this change what you do this week?
Today is a heavier news day than usual. Amazon just rewrote the rules on your product titles with zero warning period worth mentioning. TikTok Shop keeps rebuilding how it scores your account. Google and Meta both moved pieces on the ad side that touch your spend right now. And on the lifestyle beat, all three of my priority nomad countries, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, made moves this week. If you’re newer here, high-ticket dropshipping is the model I teach and build, and if you want the primer, start with what high-ticket dropshipping actually is. Let’s get into it.
Today’s Top Stories at a Glance
🚨 BREAKING: Amazon Caps Product Titles at 75 Characters
Amazon started enforcing a hard 75-character limit on most product titles on July 27, 2026, while adding a new searchable “Item Highlights” field of up to 125 characters. If your titles are long, keyword-stuffed strings built for the old rules, some of them are getting truncated or flagged right now.
Amazon’s FBA New Selection Program Relaunches July 30
Amazon is relaunching its FBA New Selection Program on July 30, 2026 with bigger fee credits, broader storage waivers, and lower referral fees on qualifying new branded ASINs. If you’re launching new products on Amazon this quarter, this is free money sitting on the table.
TikTok Shop Overhauls Its Account Health Scoring
TikTok Shop is replacing Violation Points with a graduated Account Health Rating (AHR) and swapping Customer Complaint Rate for a 60-day After-sales Handling Time (AHT) metric in its Store Rating formula. This is rolling out through July 2026 and changes how forgiving, or unforgiving, the platform is toward slow sellers.
Google Rolls Out AI Max for Standard Shopping Campaigns
Google began rolling out AI Max for Standard Shopping campaigns on July 24, 2026, layering AI-driven query matching, auto-generated ad text, and landing page optimization on top of your existing Shopping feed. Early data shows an average 5% conversion lift for advertisers who turn it on.
Meta Kills the Off-Platform Data Opt-Out
Meta removed the “Your activity off Meta technologies” opt-out this month and folded tracking controls into a single “Activity from other businesses” setting. Meta also added a 2-5% location-based ad fee surcharge in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Turkiye starting July 1.
Google AI Overviews Now Hit 14% of Shopping Queries
Google AI Overviews have grown from 2.1% of shopping queries in November 2025 to 14% in 2026, and products with complete schema markup are seeing 47% higher inclusion in AI-generated purchase summaries. Your feed hygiene is now directly tied to whether AI even sees you.
🚨 BREAKING: Thailand Ends the 60-Day Visa Run
Thailand’s Cabinet approved a full rewrite of its visa exemption system, ending the 60-day visa-free stay that 93 countries and territories relied on. Most nationalities are rolling back to 30 days under a “one country, one entitlement” model, effective 15 days after Royal Gazette publication.
Indonesia Opens the Door to 6 More Countries
Indonesia expanded its visa-free entry list to include Turkey, Brazil, Peru, Kazakhstan, Macau, and Belarus effective July 9, 2026, under a new immigration regulation aimed at boosting tourism and investment.
Vietnam Launches New Tech-Talent Visa Categories
Vietnam introduced two new 5-year visa categories, UĐ1 and UĐ2, for digital technology and special-talent professionals and their immediate family, effective July 1, 2026. This is a separate track from the Golden Visa proposal I covered here on July 21.

With Thailand tightening its visa rules and platforms rewriting theirs, the one thing that shouldn’t be exposed on a public record is your home address. Ecommerce: Amazon’s Title Crackdown, a New Fee Window, and TikTok’s Scoring Rewrite
Let’s start with the story that’s already live and already affecting your listings. On July 27, 2026, Amazon began enforcing a hard 75-character cap on most product titles, according to Stack Influence’s roundup of July seller updates. For years the meta was to cram your title with every keyword, size variant, and modifier you could fit. That era is over. Amazon paired the cap with a new searchable “Item Highlights” field, up to 125 characters, that’s meant to hold the secondary detail your old bloated titles used to carry.
Here’s why I’m flagging this as breaking and not just a minor housekeeping note. If you sell on Amazon and haven’t touched your titles in the last 48 hours, some of them are probably truncated mid-word right now, which looks unprofessional and can bury your primary keyword past the visible cutoff on mobile. I tell my clients to treat this exactly like the checkout migrations I’ve flagged before: audit first, don’t wait for a sales dip to notice. Pull your top 20 sellers by revenue, check the live title against the 75-character limit, and move anything that got cut into the new Item Highlights field instead of just deleting it. If you’re building a fresh Amazon-adjacent storefront on the side, Shopify gives you full control over title length that Amazon will never give you back.
Story two is better news, and it’s timing-sensitive. Amazon’s FBA New Selection Program relaunches July 30, 2026 with bigger fee credits, broader storage fee waivers, and lower referral fees on qualifying new branded ASINs, per Nova Analytics’ seller news tracker. If you’ve been sitting on a product launch waiting for a better cost structure, this is the window. The program specifically rewards branded, differentiated listings over generic ones, which lines up with everything I tell clients about why undifferentiated low-ticket products are a losing long game on Amazon. High-ticket, branded, well-sourced products are exactly what these fee-relief programs are built to reward.
Story three is TikTok Shop, which never stops rebuilding its rulebook. TikTok is replacing its old Violation Points system with a graduated Account Health Rating (AHR), and inside the Store Rating formula it’s swapping Customer Complaint Rate for a rolling 60-day After-sales Handling Time (AHT) metric, according to Canopy Management’s breakdown of the rating changes. The direction hasn’t changed since I covered the earlier version of this on the July 10 report: TikTok is turning response speed and after-sales handling into hard account-health numbers instead of soft guidelines. If you sell on TikTok Shop, this is now a staffing decision, not a customer service afterthought. I lean on automated post-purchase flows to keep this under control on my own stores, and a tool like Omnisend handles the shipping updates and check-ins that keep buyers from ever opening a complaint in the first place. If your support coverage has gaps, OnlineJobs.ph is where I go to find affordable virtual assistants who can cover after-sales chat on a rotating schedule.
AI: Google Pushes Deeper Into Shopping, Meta Tightens the Screws
The AI stories today split into two buckets: platforms making it easier to buy ads with AI help, and platforms making it easier for AI to find you organically. Both matter, and they’re moving on different tracks.
Google started rolling out AI Max for Standard Shopping campaigns on July 24, 2026, according to Common Thread Collective’s coverage of the rollout. AI Max layers AI-driven query matching, automated ad text generation, and landing page optimization on top of the Shopping feed you already have. Google reports an average 5% conversion lift for advertisers who turn it on at a similar cost-per-acquisition. I’d treat that number the way I treat every platform-reported lift: test it on a small budget slice before you flip it on across your whole account, but it’s worth the test. The feed quality underneath still matters more than the AI layer on top of it.
Meta made two moves that change your ad math this month. First, Meta removed the “Your activity off Meta technologies” opt-out that used to let users disconnect their off-platform activity from their Meta account, consolidating everything under a single “Activity from other businesses” setting, per GoodMorning’s July ad update roundup. For advertisers with clean Pixel health and Conversions API integration, this should widen your retargeting and lookalike audience pools. Second, Meta added a 2-5% location-based ad fee surcharge on ads delivered into the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Turkiye, effective July 1. If you’re running international campaigns into those six markets, rebuild your cost-per-acquisition math now rather than finding out at the end of the month.
The third AI story is the one I think matters most for the next 12 months. Google AI Overviews now appear on 14% of shopping queries, up from just 2.1% in November 2025, according to a recent tracking report on AI Overviews adoption. That’s a 6x jump in 8 months. Products with complete schema markup, meaning product, offer, review, and FAQ schema all present and accurate, are showing 47% higher inclusion rates in the AI-generated purchase summaries that now sit above the fold on a growing share of searches. I’ve said this before on this report and I’ll keep saying it: your product feed and structured data aren’t SEO housekeeping anymore, they’re the raw material an AI reads before deciding whether to recommend you at all. If you haven’t audited your schema markup in the last few months, that’s this week’s homework. A tool like Semrush is what I use to check which of my product pages are actually eligible for rich results and which ones are quietly invisible to the AI layer.

Location-Independent Lifestyle: All Three Priority Countries Move at Once
This doesn’t happen often. Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, my three priority countries for this section every single day, all made real moves this week. Let’s take them in order of how much they should actually change your plans.
Thailand is the big one. The Cabinet approved a full rewrite of the country’s visa exemption system, ending the 60-day visa-free stay that citizens of 93 countries and territories have relied on for years, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s own newsroom. The new system runs on a “one country, one entitlement” principle, and most nationalities including the US, UK, most of the EU, Canada, and Australia are expected to see their visa-free stay return to 30 days once the rule takes effect, which happens 15 days after publication in the Royal Gazette. If you’ve been running the old visa-run playbook, crossing a border every 60 days and coming back in on a fresh exemption, that game is closing. This doesn’t touch the 5-year Destination Thailand Visa directly, which still gives you 180 days per entry, but it does mean anyone leaning on tourist exemptions as a long-stay strategy needs to move to a real visa now. If you’re serious about Thailand as a base, I’d stop treating the DTV as optional and start the application before the 30-day rule locks in.
Indonesia’s move is smaller but still worth knowing. Indonesia expanded its visa-free entry list to include Turkey, Brazil, Peru, Kazakhstan, Macau, and Belarus effective July 9, 2026, under Immigration Regulation No. 10 of 2026, according to Let’s Move Indonesia’s coverage of the new regulation. This one doesn’t change anything for most of my US-based readers directly, since Americans already travel visa-free to Indonesia, but it’s a signal worth watching. Indonesia has been steadily loosening entry requirements while still holding the line on long-term residency through KITAS and Second Home visa categories, and it still has no dedicated digital nomad visa as of this year. If you’re in Bali or thinking about it, the entry side is getting easier while the stay-long-term side stays exactly as bureaucratic as it’s always been.
Vietnam’s news is the one I want to make sure doesn’t get confused with what I covered here on July 21. That earlier story was about the Golden Visa proposal. This week’s news is different: Vietnam introduced two brand new 5-year visa categories, UĐ1 for high-quality digital technology and special-talent professionals, and UĐ2 for their spouse and children under 18, effective July 1, 2026, according to MyVietnamVisa’s policy tracker. Vietnam still has no dedicated digital nomad visa, and most remote workers there are still running on the standard 90-day e-visa, but this UĐ1 category is worth a look if you’re a genuine tech specialist rather than a general remote freelancer. It’s a narrower door than a nomad visa, but it’s a real 5-year option where none existed before.
Whichever of these three countries is home base for you, or on your shortlist, the same operational reality applies. Your US business entity doesn’t pause because you crossed a border. If you’re building or maintaining a US LLC from Thailand, Bali, or Da Nang, you still need a real registered agent address and someone scanning your mail same-day so you don’t miss a state filing deadline while you’re 12 time zones away. That’s exactly the gap Northwest Registered Agent fills for me and for the clients I set up. And if you haven’t formalized the business side yet, my complete guide to business formation walks through the whole process before you ever have to think about it from an airport lounge. For getting money and insurance sorted across borders, I run Wise for multi-currency transfers and SafetyWing for travel and health coverage that actually understands what a digital nomad is. And with immigration systems getting more digitally strict everywhere, a reliable Surfshark VPN connection is worth having before you’re filling out an e-visa application on hotel WiFi.
What This Week’s News Tells Us
Look across all three categories today and one theme runs through every story: the systems around your business and your lifestyle are getting more precise, and the operators who win are the ones who tighten up to match. Amazon’s title cap isn’t really about character counts. It’s a reminder that platform rules can change with almost no notice, and the sellers who get hurt are the ones who never built the habit of checking. TikTok’s account-health rewrite is the same lesson wearing a different label: sloppy after-sales handling used to be a minor annoyance, now it’s a direct penalty on your account’s future.
On the AI side, the split between Google’s AI Max ad tooling and the AI Overviews growth curve tells you where the next year of ecommerce traffic is heading. Paid tools are getting smarter and doing more of the optimization work for you, but the organic side is getting harder to game and easier to earn if your data is clean. A well-built 20-product high-ticket store with accurate schema markup can out-compete a sloppy 2,000-SKU catalog in an AI answer, because the agent can actually understand what you sell. That’s good news for the exact model I teach.
And the lifestyle beat today is the clearest version of a pattern I keep flagging. Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam are all adjusting their rules in real time, some tightening, some loosening, and the nomads who get caught off guard are always the ones treating immigration policy as background noise instead of something to check weekly. The freedom of running a business from anywhere is real. It just runs on staying current with the rules, the same way your Amazon listings run on staying current with character limits. Do the boring compliance work on both sides and the rest takes care of itself. If you’re still working out where your business fits in all this, my guide to finding the best suppliers is the same process I run on every store I build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Amazon’s 75-character title limit hurt my existing listings?
If your titles were built for the old, longer format, some are likely truncated right now. Audit your top sellers today, move overflow detail into the new Item Highlights field, and keep your primary keyword in the first 60 characters so it survives on mobile too.
What’s the real difference between TikTok Shop’s old Violation Points and the new Account Health Rating?
Violation Points was closer to pass or fail. The new AHR is graduated, giving sellers more visibility into where they stand, but it now weighs After-sales Handling Time heavily, so slow response times hurt you gradually instead of triggering one big penalty.
Do I need to turn on Google’s AI Max for Shopping right away?
No. Test it on a limited budget slice first and compare cost-per-acquisition against your existing Standard Shopping setup before rolling it out account-wide. The reported 5% average lift is a platform number, not a guarantee for your specific catalog.
Does Thailand’s visa-free rollback affect my Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)?
Not directly. The rollback targets the tourist visa exemption, not the DTV. But if you’ve been using visa runs on tourist exemptions as a long-stay workaround, that strategy is closing, and applying for a real DTV or LTR visa is now the safer move.
Are the new Indonesia and Vietnam visa changes relevant if I’m a US citizen?
Indonesia’s new visa-free countries list doesn’t include the US since Americans already enter visa-free. Vietnam’s new UĐ1 category is open to any qualifying tech or special-talent professional regardless of nationality, but it’s built for specialists, not general remote workers on the standard 90-day e-visa.
