Systeme.io is the only serious all-in-one marketing platform with a genuinely usable free tier, and that free tier is the reason most people find it. What nobody explains properly is where the free plan actually stops being enough, and what the paid tiers really cost once you account for the things they do not include.
I have run funnels on most of the platforms in this category, including the expensive ones, and the pricing conversation is almost always framed wrong. People compare monthly sticker prices when the thing that actually determines your bill is contact count, and contact count grows whether or not your revenue does.
This is the full breakdown: every tier, what each limit actually means in practice, where the upgrade triggers sit, and how the total cost compares to the platforms most people are choosing between. For the feature-level verdict rather than the numbers, I already published a full Systeme.io review.
The lens throughout is someone building a real business rather than someone collecting software. That is the perspective I apply across E-Commerce Paradise, and it changes which tier makes sense considerably.
Systeme.io Pricing at a Glance
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Contacts | Funnels | Courses | Transaction Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 2,000 | 3 | 1 | 0% |
| Startup | $17 | $170 | 5,000 | Unlimited | 5 | 0% |
| Webinar | $47 | $470 | 10,000 | Unlimited | Unlimited | 0% |
| Unlimited | $97 | $970 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | 0% |
Annual billing works out to twelve months for the price of ten across every paid tier, so committing yearly saves you roughly 17 percent. Every plan includes unlimited email sends, unlimited file storage, and zero transaction fees, which is unusual and genuinely valuable.
The zero percent transaction fee matters more than people realise. Several competitors take a cut of every sale on their lower tiers, so a platform charging you nothing on top of your processor fees is effectively cheaper than its sticker price suggests. You are only paying Stripe or PayPal, and you can read how the processor side works in Stripe’s own Checkout documentation.
The Free Plan: What You Actually Get
The free tier is not a trial. There is no time limit, no credit card required, and no expiry. You get 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels, 1 online course, 1 blog, 1 custom domain, 1 affiliate program, unlimited email sends, and unlimited file storage.
Unlimited email sending on a free plan is the part that makes this unusual. Most platforms cap free sends at a few hundred or few thousand per month, and email volume is the cost driver in this industry. Systeme.io is giving away the expensive part.
For a lot of businesses that is genuinely enough to launch. A lead magnet funnel, a sales funnel, and an upsell funnel is three funnels, and 2,000 contacts is a meaningful list. If you are testing whether an offer works at all, you can find out for free.
Where the Free Plan Actually Breaks
The 3 funnel limit bites first for most people, not the contact limit. Three funnels sounds fine until you realise a webinar registration flow, a thank-you sequence, and a separate offer for cold traffic each consume one. You will hit three faster than you hit 2,000 contacts.
The single course limit bites second if you sell education. One course is enough for a launch and not enough for a catalogue, and there is no partial upgrade.
The contact limit bites third and it is the one that surprises people, because contacts accumulate. Everyone who ever downloaded your lead magnet counts, including the ones who never opened another email. Clean your list regularly or you will pay to store dead weight.
Startup at $17: The Tier Most People Should Be On
Startup removes the funnel cap entirely and takes you to 5,000 contacts and 5 courses. At $17 a month, or $170 annually, this is the best value tier in the entire category and it is where I would put most people who have validated an offer.
Unlimited funnels changes how you work. You stop rationing them, you stop deleting old tests to make room, and you can run a separate funnel per traffic source without doing mental arithmetic first. That freedom is worth more than the price difference.
The 5,000 contact ceiling is the constraint that will eventually move you. If you run paid traffic, a lead magnet at a $2 cost per lead fills 3,000 slots on a $6,000 spend, which is not a large campaign. Model your contact growth before you assume $17 is your permanent number.
Five courses covers a main offer, a bonus course, and a couple of smaller products. For most operators selling one or two things, that is not a limit you will feel.
Webinar at $47: Only If You Actually Run Webinars
The $47 tier doubles contacts to 10,000, unlocks unlimited courses, and adds the automated webinar feature. The webinar function is the entire reason this tier exists, and if you are not running webinars, you are paying $30 a month for contact headroom you may not need.
Evergreen webinars genuinely work for higher-priced offers, and having them native to the platform removes an integration and a separate subscription. Standalone webinar tools typically start around $50 to $100 a month on their own, so bundling is a real saving if you use it.
If you want a serious webinar platform rather than a bundled one, that is a different decision entirely, and I compared the dedicated options in my roundup of the best webinar software for product launches.
The honest read on this tier: skip it unless webinars are core to how you sell. Most people on Webinar should either be on Startup or should have gone straight to Unlimited.
Unlimited at $97: Contacts Are the Only Reason
The top tier removes the contact cap entirely and adds sub-accounts plus a free migration service. Everything else was already unlimited on the Webinar plan.
You buy this tier for one reason: your list has outgrown 10,000 and you do not want to think about it again. At $97 a month with unlimited contacts and unlimited sends, the per-contact economics get better the bigger you get, which is the reverse of how most email platforms price.
That inversion is the strongest argument for Systeme.io at scale. Platforms that charge per contact tier will quietly take you from $50 to $300 a month as your list grows from 10,000 to 50,000. Systeme.io stops charging you more at $97.
The free migration service is worth using if you are coming from somewhere else. Rebuilding funnels by hand is tedious and error-prone, and having their team do it removes the main reason people put off switching.
Sub-Accounts and Who They Are For
Sub-accounts let you run separate client or brand environments under one login, which matters if you manage marketing for other people. For a single-business operator they are irrelevant, and you should not weight them in your decision.
If you are running an agency rather than a business, the calculus is genuinely different and Systeme.io is not the obvious pick. I covered that comparison specifically in my breakdown of the best all-in-one marketing platforms for agencies.
What Systeme.io Pricing Does Not Cover
Page Speed Is a Real Cost
Independent reviews consistently report that Systeme.io pages load more slowly than average on both mobile and desktop. That is not a line item on the pricing page, but slow pages cost you conversions, and Google treats loading performance as a ranking and experience signal as described in its page experience documentation.
The threshold where speed starts costing you money is lower than most people think. Nielsen Norman Group’s work on response time limits puts the boundary for uninterrupted user attention at around one second, and funnel pages routinely miss that.
If page speed is your binding constraint, Convertri is the platform built specifically around solving it. I covered where that focus helps and where it costs you elsewhere in my Convertri review.
The Real Twelve Month Cost
Sticker prices mislead because nobody stays on one tier for a year. A realistic first-year path looks like three months free while you validate, six months on Startup while you build, and three months on Unlimited once your list crosses ten thousand.
That works out to roughly $393 for the year, which is less than four months of ClickFunnels at its entry price. Even the worst case, twelve months on Unlimited billed annually, comes to $970, or about what ClickFunnels costs in ten months.
The number that should actually worry you is not the subscription. It is the hours you spend rebuilding assets if you outgrow the platform and cannot export them, which is the single largest hidden cost in this entire category.
Design Flexibility Is Limited
The editor is deliberately constrained. That makes it fast to learn and hard to break, which is genuinely good for beginners, but it also means you cannot build a layout that does not already exist as a pattern. If your brand needs a distinctive look, budget for the frustration.
You Cannot Export Your Pages
This is the one that should influence your decision most. Systeme.io pages cannot be exported, downloaded, or imported elsewhere. If you leave, you rebuild from scratch on the new platform.
That is a switching cost, and switching costs are a form of pricing even though they never appear on a pricing page. Factor it in before you build fifty funnels on a $17 plan.
Analytics and Testing Are Basic
Reporting is functional rather than deep, A/B testing is simple split testing without multivariate capability, and email analytics are thin. If you optimise aggressively, you will end up piping data somewhere else, which is another cost the sticker price hides.
How Systeme.io Pricing Compares
| Platform | Entry Price | Free Plan | Transaction Fee | Contact Model |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Systeme.io | $0 then $17 | Yes, permanent | 0% | Capped then unlimited at $97 |
| ClickFunnels | $97 | Trial only | 0% | Unlimited from entry |
| Kartra | Mid tier | Trial only | 0% | Tiered by contacts |
| GoHighLevel | Agency priced | Trial only | 0% | Unlimited, agency focus |
| Kajabi | Premium | Trial only | 0% | Tiered by products |
| Leadpages | Entry level | Trial only | 0% | Tiered by sites |
ClickFunnels starts at $97 a month for the Startup plan and $297 for Pro, which means Systeme.io’s $97 top tier costs the same as ClickFunnels’ entry point. That is the single most useful number in this whole comparison.
ClickFunnels does give you unlimited funnels, courses, and contacts from the first paid tier, so it is not simply more expensive for less. It is more expensive for a more polished product with a much larger template ecosystem and community.
The full head-to-head, including where each one actually wins, is in my Systeme.io vs ClickFunnels comparison. If you want the wider field instead, I ranked it in my roundup of the best sales funnel software platforms.
Which Tier Should You Actually Buy?
Start on Free, always. There is no reason to pay before you have proven an offer converts. Build one funnel, drive a hundred visitors, and see what happens. The free plan exists precisely so you can do this.
Move to Startup the moment you need a fourth funnel. That is the real trigger, not contact count. At $17 it is not a decision worth agonising over, and annual billing drops it to about $14 a month equivalent.
Skip Webinar unless you run webinars. If you just need contact headroom above 5,000, do the math on whether you will hit 10,000 soon anyway. If you will, go straight to Unlimited and stop paying the upgrade tax twice.
Buy Unlimited when your list passes 10,000 or when you want migration help. The free done-for-you migration is genuinely worth something if you are moving off another platform with a lot of assets.
How to Keep Your Bill Down
Clean your list on a schedule. Contacts are the only thing that pushes you up tiers, and unengaged subscribers cost you money while actively hurting deliverability. Remove anyone who has not opened in six months.
Pay annually once you are certain. Twelve months for the price of ten is a straightforward 17 percent saving, but only commit after you have run the platform for a full monthly cycle and know it fits.
Consolidate before you subscribe elsewhere. The reason Systeme.io is cheap is that it replaces an email tool, a funnel builder, a course platform, and an affiliate manager. If you keep paying for those separately, you have not actually saved anything.
Watch your deliverability rather than your send volume. Unlimited sends is only valuable if the emails land, and the client landscape shifts constantly, as Litmus tracks in its data on email client market share. Volume without inbox placement is just noise.
Understand your compliance obligations before you scale sends. If any part of your list is in Europe, the requirements are specific and worth reading, and GDPR.eu’s guidance on email is a reasonable starting point.
Where This Fits in a Real Business
Funnel software is a tool for capturing demand that already exists. It does not create demand, and the amount of time people spend optimising a $17 subscription instead of fixing their offer is genuinely remarkable.
Category selection is what determines whether any of this works. Margin structure constrains your ad spend, your support load, and how much software you can afford in the first place, which is why I maintain my high-ticket niches list as a starting point.
Supplier terms are next. Getting genuine dealer pricing rather than a token discount off retail is worth more than every software saving in this article combined, and I walk through the approach in my guide on finding the best suppliers for high-ticket dropshipping.
Structure follows. Your entity, banking, and tax setup determine your liability and your effective tax rate, and it is far cheaper to get right now than to fix later. That is covered fully in my guide to business formation for high-ticket dropshipping.
On tooling, Shopify remains where I would build the actual store, with funnel software handling lead capture and nurture around it rather than replacing it. For holding and converting revenue across currencies, Wise is what I use.

Frequently Asked Questions About Systeme.io Pricing
Is Systeme.io really free?
Yes. The free plan is permanent rather than a trial, requires no credit card, and includes 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 1 blog, unlimited email sends, and unlimited file storage. There is no expiry date.
How much does Systeme.io cost per month?
Startup is $17, Webinar is $47, and Unlimited is $97 on monthly billing. Annual billing is $170, $470, and $970 respectively, which works out to twelve months for the price of ten.
Does Systeme.io charge transaction fees?
No. Every plan including the free one carries a 0 percent transaction fee, so you only pay your payment processor. That is a meaningful difference from platforms that take a cut on lower tiers.
What is the contact limit on each plan?
Free covers 2,000 contacts, Startup covers 5,000, Webinar covers 10,000, and Unlimited has no cap. Contact count is the main thing that forces upgrades, so track it rather than assuming your current tier is permanent.
Which Systeme.io plan is the best value?
Startup at $17. It removes the funnel cap entirely, which is the limit most people hit first, and it costs less than a fifth of what comparable platforms charge for their entry tier.
Is the Webinar plan worth $47?
Only if you actually run webinars. The automated webinar feature is the entire reason the tier exists, and standalone webinar tools typically cost $50 or more on their own. If you do not run webinars, you are paying $30 a month for contact headroom.
Can I export my funnels if I leave Systeme.io?
No. Pages cannot be exported, downloaded, or imported into another platform, so leaving means rebuilding from scratch. Treat this as a switching cost and weigh it before you build a large asset library.
How does Systeme.io pricing compare to ClickFunnels?
ClickFunnels starts at $97 a month, which is the same price as Systeme.io’s top unlimited tier. ClickFunnels does include unlimited funnels, courses, and contacts from its entry plan, so it is more expensive for a more polished product rather than for less.
Does Systeme.io limit how many emails I can send?
No. Unlimited email sending is included on every plan including free, which is unusual in this category since email volume is normally the primary cost driver.
Is annual billing worth it?
Yes once you are certain the platform fits, since you get twelve months for the price of ten, roughly a 17 percent saving. Run at least one full monthly cycle first so you are not locking into something you will abandon.
