Kraken Promo Code 2026: New-User Offers, Referral Terms and What to Skip

Affiliate disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Full disclosure

I could not verify a standing Kraken promo code, and I do not think you need one. What Kraken publishes is a referral program that runs on invite links, a set of campaign rules for new accounts, and a subscription with a free first month. The amounts on its own pages disagree with each other in places, so I read the ones that matter to separate the real offers from the noise.

I have been in ecommerce for 15+ years, and at Ecommerce Paradise most of my readers are building high-ticket stores. Crypto is a side question for them, and bonus hunting is a side question inside that side question. If you are still deciding whether to build a store at all, start with my guide on what high-ticket dropshipping is, because a $20 sign-up reward is a rounding error next to a working store.

Everything here is current as of October 7, 2026. I pulled it from Kraken’s support articles and official promotion rules (several dated between December 2025 and October 1, 2026), its referral page, NerdWallet’s review, and guidance from the FTC, FINRA and the IRS. I did not open an account to test any offer, so confirm every term on your own screen before you fund anything. This is general information, not personalized financial, tax or legal advice, and I am not a licensed financial advisor. I will not tell you to buy or sell any coin.

Disclosure: I may earn a commission if you sign up through my Kraken link, at no extra cost to you. Kraken’s affiliate page describes its partner payouts as a revenue share on the trading fees from clients a partner refers. The FTC’s guidance on disclosing financial relationships with a brand says to disclose them in simple, clear language, which is why that line sits here. It gives me a reason to want you to click, so I have laid out the tradeoffs that cut against that too.

Offer What Kraken’s pages say you get Who qualifies The catch
Kraken sign-up through my link Whatever new-account incentive Kraken shows you at sign-up New accounts, with the rules I read centered on US residents outside Maine and New York I could not confirm which offer a partner-link sign-up gets, and Kraken can change terms without notice
In-app referral program A fixed $20 per the support article, though other Kraken pages say up to $75, $200 or $1,000 New accounts created in the Kraken app through an invite link or code, in listed countries Needs a fiat deposit (not a card) and qualifying crypto trades inside a deadline that two Kraken pages state differently
Trade $100, get $25 in BTC or USDG $25 in Bitcoin or the USDG stablecoin New US consumer accounts, excluding Maine and New York $100 deposit by bank transfer, Plaid or PayPal, plus $100 of spot trades within 30 days of approval
2026 Affiliate Dynamic Reward A random Bitcoin reward from $5 to $250 New users who finish intermediate verification The size is random, and credits can carry a withdrawal hold of up to 7 days
Spin to Win Up to $2,500 in crypto across 30 daily spins New app clients who make a trade, then start within 7 days Not shown to everyone, no reward is guaranteed per spin, and the page is dated January 27, 2026
Kraken+ free first month No trading fee on Instant Buy up to $10,000 a month New users subscribing on the monthly plan in the app $4.99 a month afterward, spread and card fees still apply, and it does nothing on Kraken Pro

See Which Kraken Offer Your Sign-Up Screen Actually Shows

Kraken’s pages say the deposit and trading conditions are variable and shown in the app, and most of the rules I read give 30 days to finish. Open an account, read the offer on screen, and note the deposit, trade size and deadline before you fund anything.

Is There a Kraken Promo Code in 2026?

There is no evergreen code that I can verify. None of the Kraken pages I read prints a promo code, and the offers work through invite links, referral codes entered at sign-up and in-app promotions. NerdWallet’s Kraken review, last updated December 15, 2025, lists the promotion line as none, with “no promotion available at this time.”

That matters because coupon sites love to print a string of letters next to a big number. Kraken’s own referral page describes a bonus whose “amount and form (digital assets or legal tender) are determined by Kraken and specified in the applicable Referral Bonus offer.” In plain terms, the number depends on the offer you are shown, not on a code you type.

The one thing that does look like a code is the referral code. Kraken’s support article says you do not need your referral code to create an account, but you do need it to enroll in the referral program. If someone hands you a code, that is the only kind I would treat as real, and only if it came from a person or a Kraken page.

How the Kraken Referral Program Works

This is the in-app program for individuals, and Kraken’s affiliate page points everyday users to it. According to the Kraken support article last updated October 1, 2026, the steps are simple on paper. You share your invite link from the app, your friend creates a brand new account in the Kraken app, deposits cash and then trades crypto, and you both get the bonus.

The Qualifying Steps

The friend must sign up through the Kraken app and use the link, or enter the referral code during account creation. Kraken says the deposit and trading conditions are variable, and the amount required is shown in your app. You can use most deposit options, but not debit or credit card deposits.

Qualifying trades are made in the Kraken app by converting cash to crypto or with a custom or recurring order, or on Kraken web through the convert feature. The article says bundles and stablecoins are not eligible trading methods, and that whether Kraken Pro trades count depends on the referral plan you signed up for. The friend has 30 days after creating the account to finish, with a countdown in the app, and Kraken says the bonus arrives within 14 days of completing the terms.

Where It Is Available

The referrer must be in the USA (excluding Maine and New York), Puerto Rico, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, Belgium or Ireland. The friend must live in the same country as the referrer, or in another eligible European Economic Area country if the referrer is in the EEA. I live in Bali, and Indonesia is not on that list, so I would not count on this one for myself, and it may not be for you either.

Kraken’s own pages are not fully consistent on geography, either. The referral landing page says the program is available in most countries globally, although some offers might only be available in the Kraken Pro interface. A separate offer page labeled for select users lists only the US (excluding Maine, Washington and New York), Canada and several European countries. Your Referrals screen in the app is the tiebreaker.

Rules That Can Disqualify a Referral

  • The referred person must never have created a Kraken account before, and duplicate accounts and devices are disqualified.
  • Kraken’s referral page says there is a maximum of 1 reward per device per household, first come, first served.
  • Fiat to stablecoin trades do not qualify, so you must buy a non-stablecoin crypto.
  • You cannot promote an invite link through paid search, social media ads or sponsored posts, and doing so gets the link deactivated.
  • You can refer unlimited friends, but bonuses are paid for only ten, fifteen or twenty referrals depending on your offer.
  • Kraken may limit, modify or end the program at any time, for any reason and without notice.

That last line is the real reason I keep hedging. A page like this one is a snapshot, and a program that can end without notice may look different the day after I publish.

The Referral Amount: Where Kraken’s Own Pages Disagree

This is the part I most want you to see, because the headline numbers do not line up. I could not resolve the conflicts, so I am listing them side by side and telling you which one I would plan around.

Kraken page What it says about the bonus What it says about the deadline
Kraken app referral article (October 1, 2026) Intro says up to $1,000, payout section says a fixed $20 in your default currency 30 days after account creation
Kraken Pro app referral article (September 2, 2026) Intro says up to $200, payout section says a fixed $20 30 days after account creation
Kraken referral landing page You and your friend each receive up to $75, with payouts for up to $1,500 15 days after signing up

My read is that $20 is the figure to plan around, since both support articles state it in the section that explains the payout. Kraken’s general referral terms say it offers different types of referral plans, with plan-specific rewards and windows that vary from plan to plan, and one of its offer pages for select users shows $75 each, a 30-day window and at least 21 days to be paid. That makes different plans the likeliest reason the numbers differ, but no page I read says which number goes to which user, so I will not guess. Your Referrals dashboard in the app, found under the gift icon or More, then Offers, is where Kraken says your actual offer and progress appear.

On the deadline, take the shorter one. If a countdown in your app shows 15 days, treat that as the rule. I did not find anything saying a missed window can be reopened.

My Partner Link vs the In-App Referral Link

I want to be exact about what my link is. It is a tracked partner link, not the in-app invite link described above, and I could not find a Kraken page that says what a partner-link sign-up earns the new user. What I can point to is Kraken’s affiliate page, last updated December 16, 2025: it says Kraken pays partners revenue shares on the trading fees collected from clients they refer, and it tells individuals who just want to refer friends to use the referral program instead.

So here is what I cannot confirm: whether signing up through a partner link gets you the in-app referral bonus. The referral articles say you need an invite link or code, and I did not find a Kraken page that links the two programs. Kraken’s rules do list affiliate-labeled incentives, which I cover next, but they do not say who is shown which offer.

There is also a practical tracking note from Kraken’s affiliate page. It says affiliate links do not work with browsers set to block Google Analytics or cookies, including Brave and extensions such as Ad Block Plus, and that the person must click the link and sign up on the same device and browser. If you want to use a partner link, start from my Kraken link in a normal browser window and finish the sign-up there.

New-Account Incentives With Published Rules

Kraken posts official rules pages for its promotions, and three of them carry the word affiliate in their page address or title. I read each one. None says it is limited to partner-link sign-ups, and none says who is shown the offer, so treat these as published campaign mechanics and not as something my link guarantees.

Trade $100, Get $25 in BTC or USDG

Kraken’s site lists several versions of this offer, including $25 in XRP and $30 in Bitcoin, which fits the point that the reward and its form vary. Two of the rules pages, one for a $25 Bitcoin reward and one for a $25 USDG reward, share the same structure. They apply to legal US residents outside New York and Maine who open a new Kraken Consumer account, complete verification, deposit $100 by bank transfer, Plaid bank link or PayPal, and execute spot crypto trades totaling at least $100 within 30 days of account approval. The Bitcoin version says its promotion period began September 25, 2025 and the USDG version says September 9, 2025, and both say they continue until Kraken ends or modifies them.

The USDG page says the reward is credited within fourteen business days after Kraken verifies eligibility, limited to one reward per person. Futures, margin, staking, stablecoin-to-stablecoin conversions, wash trades, referral gaming and VPN circumvention do not count, and Kraken may claw back a reward if the account is closed, suspended or in breach of the rules. I could not confirm that either is live for new accounts today, so check your sign-up screen.

The 2026 Affiliate Dynamic Reward

This rules page begins February 9, 2026 and is described as ongoing. New users who finish intermediate verification, deposit $100 and complete $100 of eligible spot crypto trades receive one randomized Bitcoin reward worth between $5 and $250. Kraken says it will be credited within three days of confirming compliance, and credits may be subject to a withdrawal hold of up to seven calendar days.

The rules do not print the odds across that range, so I cannot tell you what a typical reward looks like. Trades between fiat and stablecoins, within stablecoins, of bundles and of equities do not count. The rules page is also governed by English law and London arbitration, which is a detail you will not find in a coupon blurb.

Spin to Win

Kraken’s Spin to Win article says new users can try for up to $2,500 in crypto rewards. You get one spin a day for 30 days, but only after you create and verify an account and trade in the app or on web, and you have 7 days after your trade to start. Missed days cannot be recovered, rewards can take 24 hours to appear, and Kraken says you are not guaranteed a reward on every spin.

The page also says the feature may not be available to everyone, and that it may no longer be available in your region. It is dated January 27, 2026, so I would treat it as a feature that was available and may or may not appear for you now.

Skip the Code Hunt and Read the Terms Instead

The rules I read cap many first trades at $100, ban cards as the qualifying deposit, and let Kraken claw a reward back. Check the minimum deposit, trade size and deadline on your own screen before you tap confirm.

Check the Terms Before You Deposit →

Why Kraken Offers Come and Go

The best evidence that offers change is Kraken’s own archive. Its rules pages show a US exclusive promotion that paid $50 in Bitcoin for opening an account and trading $100, and it ran from October 28 to December 4, 2025, then ended. A December 2025 spot promotion for Kraken Pro accounts, which required opting in on the Pro app, paid from $100 in Bitcoin at $10,000 of volume up to $2,000 at $250,000, with a cap of $3,600 per user, and it was scheduled to end on December 31, 2025.

Stock transfer promotions follow a similar pattern. Kraken’s ACATS transfer article, dated March 26, 2026, describes a bonus in USDG for moving eligible stocks and ETFs into Kraken Securities, while its January 2026 ACATS article, updated September 12, 2026, says that promotion ended January 31, 2026. I did not verify whether any ACATS offer is open now, and that is exactly the point: by the time you read an offer on a blog, it may be over.

My rule is to treat any date on a rules page as the oldest the offer could be. A page that says “ongoing” may still end, because the same pages reserve the right to cancel, suspend or modify the promotion in Kraken’s sole discretion. If you want the offer, act on what your sign-up screen shows today.

Kraken+ and Fee Tiers: Savings That Do Not Expire With a Campaign

Kraken+ is the one deal I would call durable, because it is a standing product. Kraken’s support FAQ, updated September 17, 2026, says it costs $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, and that for new users the first month of the monthly subscription is free. It removes the trading fee on Buy, Sell, Convert, custom and recurring purchases up to $10,000 a month, while spreads and card processing fees still apply, and it does not apply to Kraken Pro.

On the trading side, Kraken’s July 9, 2026 fee tier page puts Kraken Pro’s entry tier at 0.40% maker and 0.80% taker, and Instant Buy carries a flat 1% fee. I break down both in my Kraken fees and pricing guide, including the Kraken+ break-even point. For most readers, a standing fee discount is worth more over a year than a one-off reward, which is the main reason I keep pointing back to fees.

Is Chasing the Bonus Worth It? My Own Arithmetic

This is where promo posts usually stop at the headline. These figures are my own arithmetic from the published rates, not quotes from Kraken, and they leave out the spread because Kraken does not publish a single spread number. I used the $100 trade from the incentive rules as the example.

Scenario Fee on a $100 trade Reward What it tells you
Instant Buy, 1% fee $1.00 plus spread $25 in the trade-$100 offers Roughly $24 ahead before the spread, paid in Bitcoin or USDG
Custom order, 1.5% fee $1.50 plus spread $5 to $250 random reward Even the low end covers the fee, but you do not choose the amount
Kraken Pro taker, entry tier $0.80 Only if the offer’s terms count Pro trades Cheaper per trade, but check whether it qualifies
Buy $100, then sell it back $2.00 plus two spreads on Instant Buy Same as above A round trip is still small next to a $25 reward
Debit card deposit About $4.00 ($0.25 plus 3.75%, per Kraken’s cash deposit page) Cards are not on the qualifying deposit list where a deposit is required The cheap-looking path is the one the rules rule out

The pattern is that a $100 first trade can cost a few dollars at most, so a $25 reward more than covers it if you were going to buy crypto anyway. The risk is not the fee. It is the price of the coin moving after you buy, and the fact that the reward can be clawed back if you break a rule.

FINRA’s crypto asset guidance says crypto assets have experienced higher levels of volatility than traditional investments, and that price swings may go up and down dramatically. It also notes that offers to move assets between crypto providers might come with a payment, which is a useful way to read any bonus: it is a marketing cost the company pays to win you. Nothing here is a reason to buy crypto you do not want.

How to Claim a Bonus Without Voiding It

This sequence follows Kraken’s own conditions. Menus change, so follow the on-screen prompts if they differ from what I describe.

  1. Decide first whether you are joining through a partner link, an in-app invite link or going direct, since I could not confirm they combine.
  2. Create the account in the Kraken app if you are using a referral, because Kraken says the friend must sign up through the app.
  3. Screenshot the offer, the required deposit and trade amounts, and the countdown shown in your app.
  4. Finish identity verification, then deposit by bank transfer, Plaid bank link or PayPal, not a debit or credit card.
  5. Make the qualifying spot trade inside the deadline, using convert, a custom order or a recurring order, and avoid stablecoins and bundles.
  6. Do not use a VPN to appear in an eligible location, since the rules list VPN circumvention as non-qualifying activity.
  7. Watch for the reward: 14 days for referral bonuses, 14 business days or 3 days for the campaign pages.

If the reward does not arrive, take your screenshots to Kraken support. The rules say a reward can be withheld if the account is not active, verified and in good standing, so a missing reward is not always a glitch.

Are Kraken Rewards Taxable?

Possibly, and you should ask a tax professional, since I am not one. Kraken’s incentive rules say participants are solely responsible for all taxes on the reward, and the trade-$100 rules add that Kraken may require a Form W-9 and may issue IRS Form 1099. The Kraken pages I read do not state a tax treatment for each offer, so do not assume they are all the same.

The IRS page on digital assets says to answer yes to the digital asset question on your return if you received digital assets as a reward or award. It also says you must report digital asset transactions whether or not they result in a taxable gain or loss.

The practical habit is recordkeeping. Save the screenshot of the offer, the date the reward landed and its dollar value that day. If you run a store, keep crypto activity separate from the business, and my business formation guide covers the entity and banking setup that keeps personal and store money apart.

Fake Promo Codes and Giveaway Scams

Anything that says free next to crypto draws scammers, and a search for a promo code is a magnet for them. The FTC’s page on cryptocurrency scams says scammers promise free cash or cryptocurrency and that free money promises are always fake. It also says only scammers demand payment in cryptocurrency, and that no legitimate business will demand you send crypto in advance.

Kraken’s own rewards article for its wallet carries a similar warning, saying never to pay or share a recovery phrase to “unlock” a reward. If a “Kraken promo” asks you to send crypto first, pay a fee to unlock a bonus, or share your recovery phrase or a verification code, it is not a Kraken offer. I cover custody and account safety in my best crypto wallets guide.

Also remember that Kraken’s referral terms ban paid ads that promote an invite link. If a site is buying search ads for “Kraken promo code” and sending you to a referral link, that is worth a raised eyebrow, and it is a reason to go to Kraken’s own pages for the terms.

Who Should Skip the Bonus

Skip it if you only want to buy a few dollars of crypto to learn, because the minimums can push you into spending more than you planned. Skip it if you live outside the countries on the referral list, since the best-documented offers are US-focused. Skip it if the bonus is the only reason you are opening the account, because a $20 reward does not change what you pay in fees every month afterward.

State rules also matter. Most of Kraken’s referral and incentive rules exclude Maine and New York (one referral offer page also lists Washington), and my fees guide covers the other licensing limits I found, so confirm your state before you chase anything. If you live abroad as I do, my guide on how to get paid while living abroad matters more than which exchange you pick.

If your real goal is making money online, point your effort at a business. A single supplier relationship can matter more than any reward, and my step-by-step supplier guide shows how.

To pick what to sell, my high-ticket niches list is the place to start. If you are starting from zero, my free mini course is a good first step.

How This Compares With Other Exchanges

I did not check other exchanges’ current sign-up offers beyond Coinbase, so I am not going to quote any others. For Coinbase, I read its published new-user rewards and referral terms and wrote them up in my Coinbase promo code and referral bonus guide. The pattern there is similar: no evergreen code, random or capped rewards, and terms that can change.

For a side-by-side on costs, safety and coins, my Coinbase vs Kraken guide puts the two next to each other. The fee gap between platforms is often bigger than any bonus, so I would read that before opening anything. For my broader take on the exchange itself, see my Kraken review.

One safety note applies everywhere. FINRA says crypto assets that are not securities under the Securities Investor Protection Act are not protected by it, so a bonus does not come with any extra protection for the coins you hold.

My Verdict on Kraken Promos in 2026

There is no secret code to find. What exists are time-limited, sometimes randomized rewards that Kraken can change or end whenever it likes, and a referral program whose payout figure Kraken states three different ways. If you were already going to open an account and make a first trade of $100 or so, reading the on-screen offer first is a sensible five minutes.

If you want to go through my link, open Kraken with my partner link and check the offer on screen before you deposit. If you have a friend with an in-app invite link and you live in an eligible country, compare that offer too, because I could not confirm the two programs stack. I would rather you make the comparison than trust either of us on faith.

The downsides are plain. The referral amount is inconsistent across Kraken’s pages, the qualifying rules steer you to specific deposit and trade types, the deadlines are short, a reward can be clawed back, and the reward may be taxable. A bonus should never be your reason to buy crypto, and if you want a second opinion on how crypto fits next to a business, my coaching is where to ask.

Compare the Offer on Your Screen, Then Decide

Kraken’s first-trade rules center on a $100 deposit and trade, Kraken+ gives new app users a free first month, and any of it can change without notice. Screenshot your terms and keep your records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a Kraken promo code that works right now?
As of October 2026, I could not verify an evergreen code. NerdWallet’s December 2025 review lists no promotion at that time, and Kraken’s pages describe offers shown in the app, so treat any code you did not get from Kraken or a person you know as unconfirmed.

How much is the Kraken referral bonus?
Kraken’s support articles state a fixed $20 in your default currency, but the same articles and its referral page also say up to $1,000, $200 and $75 in different places. The offer you are actually shown appears on your own sign-up screen, whether you join through my Kraken partner link or a friend’s invite, and I would screenshot it.

Can I use a referral code and a partner link together?
I could not confirm it. Kraken’s referral articles say you need an invite link or code to enroll in the referral program, and its affiliate page describes partner links as a separate program, but no page I read says whether they combine.

Is a Kraken sign-up bonus taxable?
It may be. Kraken’s incentive rules say participants are responsible for all taxes, one set says Kraken may issue a Form 1099, and the IRS says to answer yes to the digital asset question if you received digital assets as a reward or award. Ask a tax professional, since I am not one.

Who cannot use the Kraken referral program?
Residents of Maine and New York are excluded, one offer page also excludes Washington, and the support article lists the USA, Puerto Rico, Australia, Brazil, Canada and several European countries as eligible. Kraken says the friend you refer must live in the same country as you, with an EEA exception, so confirm where you live.

Put Your Effort Into a Store That Pays You Back

A done-for-you build covers the store, the supplier work and the setup, so your time goes to selling instead of chasing $20 rewards. Prefer guidance over done-for-you? Coaching is the other route.
