Best 24-7 Press Release Alternatives in 2026

Affiliate disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Full disclosure

24-7 Press Release Newswire is cheap, it publishes every price, and its $139 Integrated Media Pro plan is a perfectly sensible buy for a lot of stores. So why look at alternatives? Because the thing you actually need might not be what 24-7 sells. If you want your launch on a real PR Newswire national circuit without a 375 word cap, a flat single price with same-day distribution, a free listing, or a writer who handles the whole release for you, a different service will fit better.

I run high-ticket stores, the kind where one order is $1,000 to $5,000 and the buyer checks you out hard before paying. For that kind of store a press release is a trust tool, not a traffic tool. You want a record that your launch was real news, a few credible pages when someone searches your brand, and a genuine chance that a journalist in your niche picks it up. Every service below does some of that. None of them does all of it, whatever the sales page implies.

For this article I read each alternative’s own pricing page in September 2026, pulled the sitemaps where they were available, and wrote down only the numbers I could see. Where a service would not load for me or publishes no prices, I say so and quote nothing. That is why Business Wire has no price in this article: its site returned an access error to every request I made.

Here is how the five priced alternatives compare with 24-7, which one I would pick for a product launch, and where I think you should skip the wire entirely and spend the money on something else.

Get Your Launch on a National PR Newswire Send

eReleases includes custom national PR Newswire distribution and editorial review on every package, from $399 for 400 words, with 30% off for first-time customers.

PRWeb $120, $245, $360, $480 per release Cision’s self-serve option, with a journalist list from $360

If you want the full breakdown of the service you are comparing against, my 24-7 Press Release pricing guide goes through all six plans, the add-on charges and the agency discounts.

What to Compare Before You Switch

Wires are hard to compare because they sell different things under the same word. Before you look at a single price, decide which of these you are paying for.

Syndication or distribution

Syndication means your release gets copied onto a network of news-style websites. Distribution, in the sense most journalists mean it, means your release lands in front of people whose job is deciding what to cover. Most cheap plans are mainly syndication. That is not a scam, it is just a different product, and it is worth knowing which one you are buying.

Which newswire circuit

PR Newswire comes up constantly in this category, and different services sell very different slices of it. eReleases puts every package on what it calls a custom national PR Newswire distribution. PRWeb, which carries a Cision copyright in its footer, syndicates to 1200+ websites powered by PR Newswire from its $245 tier. PRLog sells a PR Newswire online syndication add-on. 24-7 only uses PR Newswire on its $479 plan. Those are four different products, so do not let the shared name make them look equal.

Word limits and add-ons

A low headline price with a tight word limit can end up costing more than a higher price with no limit. 24-7’s PR Newswire plan caps you at 375 words, eReleases starts at 400, EIN starts at 700, and Newswire.com says its prices cover unlimited words and images.

Links

Do not buy any of these for backlinks. Google’s spam policies name links with optimized anchor text in press releases distributed on other sites as an example of link spam. 24-7’s own FAQ says it only uses Nofollow links. Treat every wire as a visibility tool.

1. eReleases: Best for a Launch That Deserves Real Distribution

eReleases is the alternative I would pick when the news is genuinely worth covering. Its eReleases pricing page lists three packages, and every one of them includes editorial review, a custom national PR Newswire distribution, targeted distribution to what it calls the appropriate subsegment of its database of 1.7 million journalists and social media influencers, and a WireWatch proof of distribution report.

Package Price Words included Industry target lists Extras included
Buzz Builder $399 400 1 2 images
Newsmaker (their #1 pick) $499 500 2 2 images
PR Pro $699 600 3 2 images, Cision Influencer List direct-to-journalists email

The add-ons are where eReleases gets expensive. Additional words cost $150 per block of 100 words or fraction of a block. Extra industry target lists are $150 each, local saturation is $150, the Cision Influencer List is $150 on the two cheaper packages, image embedding is $150, YouTube embedding is $200, and international distribution is $150 per country or $1,000 global. Having eReleases write the release is $300 on top of the package.

The page also says first-time customers save 30%. It does not print the discounted package prices, so here is my arithmetic: 30% off $399 would be $279.30, and 30% off $499 would be $349.30. Check the cart before you rely on those.

The claim to know about

eReleases says on its pricing page that it is the only partner of PR Newswire providing full-exposure nationwide distribution, and that any other company claiming PR Newswire distribution is only providing statewide or regional distribution. 24-7, PRWeb and PRLog all describe their own PR Newswire products differently. I cannot verify any of those claims from outside, so treat them as each vendor’s own description and compare what the plans list.

Who should use it

Use eReleases for the one or two announcements a year that matter: an exclusive dealer agreement with a brand buyers already search for, a genuinely new product line, a big milestone. For a $3,000 product at a 25% margin, each sale is worth about $750 in gross profit, so a $499 release needs roughly one extra sale to cover itself. That is achievable when the story is real and very unlikely when it is not. My eReleases pricing breakdown has the full add-on math.

2. EIN Presswire: Best Flat Single Price

EIN Presswire is the closest like-for-like alternative to 24-7 on price. The EIN Presswire pricing page lists three packages, and each lets you use your releases within 365 days of purchase.

Package Price Per release Word limit Images Country and industry targets
Basic $149 for 1 $149 700 1 1 and 1
Pro+ $499 for 5 $99.80, or $83.17 with the limited-time extra release 1,000 3 2 and 5
Corporate $999 for 15 $66.60 2,500 5 2 and 5

The Pro+ package was showing a limited-time offer of one extra free release with a countdown timer when I read the page, which is how $499 becomes $83.17 per release (six releases instead of five). The regular figure is $99.80. All three packages allow 3 keyword anchor text links.

Every package includes the same distribution list: AP News, Nexstar Media Group, the USA TODAY Network, news aggregators such as Google News and Bloomberg Terminals, EIN’s own partner sites, release time scheduling, and same-day distribution for verified accounts during business hours. EIN describes the AP News placement as having a potential reach of 35 million unique monthly visitors.

EIN’s reach figures are not consistent across its own documents. The pricing page says AP News, Nexstar and USA TODAY together reach a combined 350 million monthly active users. EIN’s own pricing overview PDF, dated 05/19/2026, says AP News and Nexstar reach a combined 175 million and does not mention USA TODAY. The web page carries a banner announcing USA TODAY Network as new distribution, which probably explains the gap. Either way, those are audience sizes for the outlets, not readers of your release.

EIN versus 24-7

At one release, EIN’s $149 sits between 24-7’s $139 Integrated Media Pro and $199 Pro+. EIN gives you same-day distribution on every package and AP News placement. 24-7 gives you the AP Newsroom journalist platform, a daily email to 1,500+ US newspaper editorial contacts on the $139 plan, and unlimited words. If speed matters, EIN wins. If you want newspaper editors to see your headline, 24-7 Pro is the one. My eReleases vs EIN Presswire comparison covers EIN in more depth.

3. PRWeb: Best If You Want a Journalist List Without eReleases Prices

PRWeb publishes four tiers on its PRWeb pricing page, all per news release.

Tier Price What it adds Turnaround
Basic $120 Unlimited media assets, keyword tagging by their editorial team 48 hours
Standard $245 Syndication to 1200+ websites powered by PR Newswire 48 hours
Advanced $360 Email to one industry-curated journalist list, proofreading 24 hours
Premium $480 Adds Sovrn content recommendation network 24 hours

The interesting step is Advanced at $360, the cheapest price I found for an industry-curated journalist email list combined with PR Newswire-powered syndication. It covers one industry list. eReleases’ $399 package includes one industry target list plus its national PR Newswire send, so for $39 more you get a different class of distribution, at least on eReleases’ description. The Basic tier at $120 lists search visibility and keyword tagging but no syndication network, so I would not buy it for a launch.

If you are weighing PRWeb against eReleases specifically, my eReleases vs PRWeb comparison goes line by line.

4. Newswire.com: Best for Long Releases and AP News

Newswire.com publishes four plans on its Newswire.com pricing page, and says the prices cover unlimited words and images.

Plan Price per release Distribution listed Estimated reach, per Newswire
Starter $399 Digital Journal and Online News and Media 6 to 10 million monthly readers
Basic (Most Popular) $659 AP News, Digital Journal and more 75 to 100 million monthly readers
Feature $965 AP News, Yahoo, Nexstar and major outlets 150 to 200 million monthly readers
State Distribution $599 Regional news outlets and local TV stations in one chosen state Not stated

The reach figures are Newswire’s estimates of the audiences of the outlets it distributes to, not of people who will read your release. The State Distribution plan is marked as not for regulatory distribution. Newswire.com’s Starter plan is the same $399 as eReleases’ Buzz Builder, but they are very different products, which I cover in eReleases vs Newswire.com.

For a high-ticket store, the $599 state plan is the one I find most interesting. If your store sells hot tubs, saunas or golf simulators with local installation in one state, regional TV and news coverage in that state is more useful than national syndication.

Only Need One Release, Sent Today?

EIN Presswire is $149 for a single release with AP News placement, a 700 word limit and same-day distribution for verified accounts during business hours.

5. PRLog: Best Zero-Budget Option

PRLog’s PRLog submission page says you can submit and distribute a release for free and that most of its services are free. An optional paid package removes advertising and adds features. That page does not print a price for the paid package, and I did not find one on the other PRLog pages I opened, so I am not quoting one.

The features the page lists include a search-optimized release page and PDF, clickable links, an image and logo, scheduling, typical same-day release, visitor statistics and a free company profile. It does not say which of those need the paid package. The one published price I did find is on PRLog’s PR Newswire page, which lists a discount PR Newswire distribution price of US$389.00 as an add-on per release. That add-on is described as posting to PRNewswire.com and syndication on PR Newswire’s online network, and it is not available for litigation-related or publicly traded company content.

Free is the right price for a release you are publishing mainly so that a brand search returns something. It is not the right tool for a launch you want journalists to notice.

What About PR Newswire and Business Wire Direct?

Going straight to the big wires is the obvious alternative, and neither one gave me a price to publish. The PR Newswire product pages I opened carry no dollar figures, its agency page offers a Request Pricing button instead, and a scan of its main sitemap found no page with pric, plan, fee, cost or package in the URL. PR Newswire’s products page is the place to start a quote. Business Wire’s site returned an access denied error to every request I sent, so I have nothing verified to say about its pricing.

Other sites publish figures for both, including other wires describing their competitors’ price lists. I am not repeating those, because they are not the vendors’ own numbers. For a single-store owner the practical point is simpler: if you need a quote to find out the price, it is probably built for a company with a communications team, not a store launching a $3,000 product.

The Alternative Nobody Sells: Pitch the Journalists Yourself

The best press I have ever had for a high-ticket store did not come from a wire. It came from finding the five or six writers who cover a niche, reading what they had written, and sending each of them a short, specific email about why my product was relevant to their readers. That costs time, not money, and one real article from a writer your buyers already read is worth more than 400 syndicated pages.

A wire works best as a supporting step in that process. It creates the public record you point journalists to, and it catches the occasional writer you did not know about. My six-week plan for getting press coverage for a product launch shows how the two fit together. If you have not written the release yet, start with how to write a press release for an ecommerce store.

Which Alternative I Would Pick

Your situation My pick Why
A real launch, once or twice a year eReleases Newsmaker National PR Newswire send, editor review, 500 words, $499
Time-sensitive news, one release EIN Presswire Basic $149 with same-day distribution for verified accounts
Newspaper editors seeing your headline, on a budget 24-7 Press Release Integrated Media Pro $139 with the daily editor email and AP Newsroom
Local installs in one state Newswire.com State Distribution $599 for regional news and local TV in one state
A journalist list for less than $399 PRWeb Advanced $360 for one industry journalist list plus syndication
No budget at all PRLog free A free release page that shows up in a brand search

Notice that 24-7 is still on that list. For a lot of store owners the honest answer to “what is the best 24-7 alternative” is that you do not need one, you need the $139 plan instead of the $49 plan. Switch when you need something 24-7 does not sell: a national PR Newswire send with more than 375 words, same-day distribution on a single release, or a journalist list.

Whichever you pick, the release is only as good as the store it points to. If the store is thin, the best press release in the world sends people to a page that does not convince them. If you are still building that foundation, start with the guide to what high-ticket dropshipping is. Then use the high-ticket niches list to pick a category with real trade press.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest alternative to 24-7 Press Release?

PRLog is free to submit. Among the paid services in this article, PRWeb’s $120 Basic tier is the lowest published single-release price, although 24-7’s own $49 and $89 plans are cheaper than any paid alternative here.

Which alternative includes PR Newswire?

eReleases includes a custom national PR Newswire distribution on every package from $399. PRWeb syndicates to 1200+ websites powered by PR Newswire from $245. PRLog sells a PR Newswire add-on at US$389.00 per release. Each vendor describes a different product.

Is EIN Presswire better than 24-7 Press Release?

For speed, yes: EIN lists same-day distribution for verified accounts during business hours on every package. For newspaper editor exposure at a similar price, 24-7’s $139 Integrated Media Pro includes a daily headline email to 1,500+ US newspaper editorial contacts.

Will any of these get me dofollow backlinks?

You should not buy them for that. Google’s spam policies treat optimized anchor text links in distributed press releases as link spam, and 24-7 states that it uses Nofollow links.

My Verdict

The best 24-7 Press Release alternative depends on what 24-7 is not giving you. If it is a real newswire, eReleases is the step up, at $399 to $699 plus some expensive add-ons, and it is the one I would use for the launch that matters most in a year. If it is speed on a single release, EIN Presswire at $149 is the simplest swap. If it is local reach, Newswire.com’s $599 state plan is unusual and useful. If it is money, PRLog is free and 24-7 itself is still the cheapest paid option in this article.

What none of them will do is make a high-ticket store trustworthy on their own. They create a record, they add a few credible pages to a brand search, and sometimes a journalist bites. For a store selling $1,000 to $5,000 products, pair the wire with direct pitching, real reviews and a site that answers every question a nervous buyer has. That combination is what moves conversion rate, not the logo of whichever wire you picked.

For more options, my list of the best press release distribution services ranks the whole category. My press release cost guide has every wire’s pricing side by side.
