Google Fi and Visible both sell month-to-month unlimited phone plans with no contract, but they price them in very different ways. Fi lists a price before taxes and fees, and adds 10 to 20 percent on top. Visible lists an all-in price with taxes and fees included, so its $25 plan is not directly comparable to a Fi price quoted before tax. The two also run on rival networks, because Fi uses T-Mobile and Visible is owned by Verizon.
At Ecommerce Paradise, I write about the tools store owners pay for, and a phone line is one of the quiet ones that suppliers and customers end up calling. If you are still working out the business behind the phone, my guide to what high-ticket dropshipping is is a good place to start. This comparison answers a narrower question: which of these two lines costs less and fits better for you?
I read both companies’ plan pages, terms, trial pages and offer pages on October 7, 2026, plus one independent roundup. I have not run a line on either service for this comparison, so this is a documentation read and not a hands-on test. Where pages disagree with each other, I say so. Confirm every number on the signup screen before you pay, and treat this as general information, not financial or tax advice, since I am not a licensed advisor.
Disclosure: I may earn a commission if you sign up through my Google Fi link, at no extra cost to you.
| Service | Unlimited plans, 1 line | Taxes and fees | Network | Lines | Hotspot | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Fi | $35 Essentials, $50 Standard, $65 Premium (or $20 plus $10 per GB) | Extra, normally 10 to 20 percent | T-Mobile | 1 to 6 on one plan | None, 25 GB or 50 GB high speed | 7 days, card required, renews at $50 |
| Visible | $25 Visible, $35 Visible+, $45 Visible+ Pro (monthly) | Included in the price | Verizon (Visible’s parent) | One line per account, Inner Circle groups up to 7 members | Unlimited at 5, 10 or 15 Mbps | 15 days, no card, no auto-renewal |
Compare Fi’s Group Prices Before You Add a Second Line
Fi lists Standard at $50 for one line, $80 for two and $100 for four, with no activation or cancellation fees. Its referral page lists a $60 bill credit for you and the person who referred you, paid after 30 days of service and your first bill paid in full.
The Core Difference: All-In Pricing vs Price Plus Taxes
Visible’s plans page says taxes and fees are included in the monthly price, and its broadband labels list government taxes as included, with no provider monthly fees and no early termination fee. Visible’s terms still say you are responsible for mandatory taxes and fees, but that they are folded into the all-in cost. The plans page lists $25, $35 and $45 a month for one line, and that is the number that leaves your card, before any promotion. Taxes can still apply to add-on services and device purchases.
Fi works the other way. Its plans page says monthly prices do not include taxes and government fees, and that these are normally between 10 and 20 percent depending on the state. By that range, a $50 Fi plan lands at roughly $55 to $60 a month. Fi also says there is no annual service contract and no activation or cancellation fee, and the only money you owe on the way out is any remaining balance on a phone you financed through Fi.
That one difference changes the comparison more than any plan name does. A fair comparison puts Visible’s $35 next to Fi’s $50 plus tax, not next to a bare $50. The FCC’s broadband label rules require mobile providers to show prices, introductory rates, data allowances and speeds at the point of sale, so read the label for the exact plan you pick on both sites.
There is a second, quieter difference in how you pay. Visible’s terms say service depends on payment in advance, and that an account which lapses is suspended for 60 days and then canceled, at which point your number may be reassigned. Fi bills at the start of the cycle for its unlimited plans, with extras like calls abroad billed at the end.
Google Fi Plans and Prices in 2026
Fi sells three unlimited plans and one pay-by-the-gigabyte plan. All of them include nationwide 5G on a supported phone, VPN by Google, advanced spam call blocking and 24/7 support. The table shows the prices Fi listed on October 7, 2026, before taxes and fees.
| Plan | 1 line | 2 lines | 4 lines | High-speed data per person | Hotspot | International data |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unlimited Premium | $65 | $110 | $160 | 100 GB, then 256 kbps | 50 GB high speed | 200+ destinations |
| Unlimited Standard | $50 | $80 | $100 | 50 GB, then 256 kbps | 25 GB high speed | Canada and Mexico |
| Unlimited Essentials | $35 | $60 | $90 | 30 GB, then 256 kbps | Not supported | Not included |
| Flexible | $20 plus $10 per GB | $35 plus data | $65 plus data | 15 GB, then 256 kbps | Supported | 200+ destinations at $10 per GB |
Premium also bundles 6 months of YouTube Premium and 100 GB of Google One storage, plus data-only SIMs for tablets and laptops. All three unlimited plans include full connectivity for select smartwatches at no extra charge, which Fi presents as a differentiator. Visible lists smartwatch service at $10 a month on its two lower plans and includes it on Pro. For the line-by-line math on each tier, see my Google Fi pricing guide.
Fi’s group discounts are where the price curve gets interesting. Standard drops from $50 for one line to $25 per line at four lines, and Essentials reaches $23 per line. Everyone on a group plan has to be on the same plan, so one person who wants Premium means a plan change for the whole group.
Visible Plans and Prices in 2026
Visible sells three plans, each available monthly or annually. The table shows the listed prices on October 7, 2026, with taxes and fees included, as Visible’s plans page states.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Network tier | Hotspot | Travel |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | $25 | $275 (about $23 a month) | Verizon 5G and 4G LTE | Unlimited at up to 5 Mbps | $5 a day in Canada and Mexico, $10 a day in 140 countries |
| Visible+ | $35 | $375 (about $32 a month) | Premium data, 5G Ultra Wideband where available | Unlimited at up to 10 Mbps | Canada and Mexico included, 1 Global Pass day a month |
| Visible+ Pro | $45 | $450 (about $38 a month) | Premium data, 5G Ultra Wideband where available | Unlimited at up to 15 Mbps | Canada and Mexico included, 2 Global Pass days a month, calls to 85+ countries |
Visible lists unlimited data, talk and text on every plan, plus unlimited talk and text from the US to Canada and Mexico. Visible+ and Pro also list unlimited talk, text and data while roaming in Canada and Mexico, with data slowing to 3G after 2 GB a day. Pro adds calling from the US to 85+ countries (up to 500 minutes a month) and smartwatch service. Visible’s free trial page still shows older pricing (it lists Visible+ at $45), so I used the plans page and the broadband labels, which list $25, $35 and $45 and say none is an introductory rate.
Visible’s plans are individual. There is no multi-line bundle on the plans page, and instead Visible offers Inner Circle, where up to 7 members link separate accounts, can pay for each other if they choose, and each save $5 a month on Visible+ or Visible+ Pro monthly plans. Visible’s Inner Circle page says device and referral credits can stack with that $5, but other promotional service credits do not stack, and the larger credit takes precedence.
What You Actually Pay for 1 to 4 Lines
This is my own arithmetic from the listed prices over 12 months, using regular monthly prices and no promotions. I add Fi’s stated 10 to 20 percent for taxes and fees, and I leave Visible at its all-in price. For Visible I show the Visible+ price both without and with the Inner Circle discount, since the discount only applies to the Plus and Pro tiers.
| Scenario | Visible, 12 months | Google Fi, 12 months with 10 to 20% taxes | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 line, entry unlimited | $300 (Visible at $25) | $462 to $504 (Essentials at $35) | Visible, by $162 to $204 |
| 1 line, mid tier with hotspot | $420 (Visible+ at $35) | $660 to $720 (Standard at $50) | Visible, by $240 to $300 |
| 1 line, top tier for travel | $540 (Visible+ Pro at $45) | $858 to $936 (Premium at $65) | Visible, by $318 to $396, with different perks |
| 2 lines, mid tier | $840, or $720 with Inner Circle | $1,056 to $1,152 (Standard at $80) | Visible, by $216 or more |
| 3 lines, mid tier | $1,260, or $1,080 with Inner Circle | $1,188 to $1,296 (Standard at $90) | Close to a tie without Inner Circle |
| 4 lines, mid tier | $1,680, or $1,440 with Inner Circle | $1,320 to $1,440 (Standard at $100) | Fi, by up to $360 |
| 4 lines, entry unlimited | $1,200 (Visible at $25 each) | $1,188 to $1,296 (Essentials at $90) | A wash |
The pattern is clear. For one or two people, Visible costs a lot less on the tiers that compare. At three lines the two are close, and at four lines Fi pulls ahead on the mid tier because its per-line price keeps falling while Visible’s stays flat unless you use Inner Circle.
The comparison is not apples to apples at the top. Fi Standard slows you to 256 kbps after 50 GB and gives 25 GB of high-speed hotspot, while Visible+ lists unlimited hotspot data at speeds up to 10 Mbps. Compare the data you actually use, not only the headline price, and check my Google Fi promo guide for how Fi’s first-year offers change the math.
Network, Speeds, Hotspot and Video
Fi’s coverage page says its service runs on the T-Mobile network and that it is not subject to data traffic deprioritization, though it adds that phones sold on its site can also move between carrier networks. Visible’s about page says it runs on its parent company Verizon’s 5G and 4G LTE networks, and Tom’s Guide’s September 2026 best cell phone plans roundup also states that Verizon owns Visible. Because the towers are different, a few days on a trial says more about coverage at your home and office than any ad does.
The tiers matter on Visible. The base plan footnote says that in times of traffic your data may be temporarily slower than other traffic, while Visible+ and Visible+ Pro are described as premium data with no slowdowns due to prioritization. Tom’s Guide says its reviewer found Visible as reliable as direct Verizon coverage, but also says it had been a while since they tested it, so treat that as one data point.
The sources conflict on one detail. Visible’s current plans page says Visible+ and Visible+ Pro get unlimited premium data on 5G and 4G LTE when Ultra Wideband is unavailable. Visible’s free trial page and Tom’s Guide still describe a 50 GB premium data figure for Visible+. I could not resolve that from the pages, so check the plan details at checkout if you are a very heavy user.
Speeds on Visible’s labels give a sense of the gap between tiers. The base plan lists typical download speeds of 20 to 148 Mbps on 5G and 4G LTE. Visible+ and Pro list 163 to 622 Mbps on 5G Ultra Wideband and 35 to 148 Mbps on 5G and 4G LTE, with typical latency of 35 to 58 ms.
On video, Fi says it attempts to stream at up to 480p on its unlimited plans. Visible’s plans page footnotes say video defaults to 480p on all plans, with higher quality selectable in settings: up to 1080p on Ultra Wideband (720p on 5G or LTE) for Visible+, and up to 4K on Ultra Wideband (1080p on 5G or LTE) for Pro. Wi-Fi calling is listed for all Visible plans.
Not Sure Which Network Works at Your Address? Test Fi First
Fi’s 7-day trial runs alongside your current carrier, covers 1 line with up to 10 GB of high-speed data, and needs a card and an eSIM phone. If you do nothing it renews at $50 a month on Standard, so set a reminder before day 7.
Travel and International Use
This is where the two plans separate most. Fi’s Premium and Flexible plans include data in 200+ destinations, calls made abroad cost 20 cents a minute and texts are free. Standard covers Canada and Mexico only, and Essentials has no international data. By my arithmetic, Fi Premium at $65 plus taxes is the simpler fit if you leave the country several times a year.
Visible sells travel by the day. Its Global Pass page lists $10 a day for unlimited talk and text plus 2 GB of data with hotspot in over 140 countries, and $5 a day for Canada and Mexico on the base plan. Visible+ includes one Global Pass day a month and Pro includes two, and up to 12 unused days can be banked on monthly plans. Annual Plus members get 12 days a year and annual Pro members get 24.
Here is my own arithmetic for one month. A Visible+ month with 5 days abroad costs about $75 ($35 plus 4 extra days at $10, since one is included), against $71.50 to $78 for Fi Premium with taxes. So the two are about even at 5 days a month, Visible is cheaper below that, and Fi is cheaper above it. Remember that Global Pass lists 2 GB of data per day (slowing to 3G after that), while Fi Premium lists 50 GB of high-speed data abroad.
Both companies write limits into their terms, and this matters if you live abroad. Fi’s international page says you must activate and use Fi mainly in the United States for at least one day before using it abroad, and that if the majority of your usage is outside the US over a consecutive 90-day period, it will suspend your international data. Fi’s help page describes an earlier trigger: an extended stay abroad, typically 50 days, brings a warning email, and international data is suspended 30 days after that email. Plan around the shorter number.
Visible’s terms say your services are for use within the Visible coverage and service areas, and list primarily using data outside that area on other carrier networks as a reason it may limit or end service. Neither company is built for permanent residence abroad. If that is your situation, read the current terms of whichever you pick and keep a backup number for important accounts.
Deals, Promo Codes and Free Trials
Visible lists several promo codes on its homepage as I read it. SAVE6 takes $6 a month off Visible, Visible+ or Visible+ Pro for the first 12 months for new members on monthly plans, which is what produces the “$19 a month for one year” headline. The 5OFF5 code takes $5 a month off Visible+ or Visible+ Pro for 60 months, but it needs a port-in from an eligible carrier, and its page lists an end date of October 29, 2026 at 11:59 pm EST.
A third code, SAVEHALF, takes $225 off the Visible+ Pro annual plan, which is listed at $450 a year. The page says it is a limited-time offer with no end date, and its terms allow stacking only with referral credits for existing members. The plans page also still advertises a FRESHSTART code ($5 a month off for 12 months), but the terms behind it list an end date of June 1, 2026, so I would treat it as stale.
Visible’s Bring a Friend program gives a new member $20 off their second month, and the referrer a $20 credit. The SAVE6 terms say it cannot be combined with Bring a Friend credits for new members, and the 5OFF5 terms say it cannot be combined with other service promotions or Inner Circle credits.
Fi’s referral page lists a $60 bill credit for you and the person who referred you, with up to $600 in total credits for the referrer. The credit arrives only after 30 consecutive days of service and your first bill paid in full, and you can use one referral code. My Fi link is a referral link, so confirm the credit shows on your order summary before you pay.
Fi’s Bring Your Own Pixel offer is 50 percent off for 12 months on Premium, Standard or Essentials for new customers who bring a Pixel phone, and its terms list an expiry of October 31, 2026 at 9:59 AM PDT or while supplies last. By my arithmetic that is $25 a month on Standard and $17.50 on Essentials for one line. Pausing the line or changing plans before 12 months voids it, and Fi’s terms say it cannot be combined with other device promotions. They do not say whether it stacks with the referral credit, so confirm at checkout.
Both companies also offer trials, and they differ a lot. Visible’s free trial is 15 days, needs no credit card, has no auto-renewal and runs on an eSIM beside your current service, with a temporary trial number. Fi’s trial is 7 days, asks for a card, converts to Standard at $50 a month if you do nothing, and the referral page says you cannot redeem a referral code after a trial. I cover the conflicts between Fi’s own pages in my Google Fi free trial guide.
These deals expire, so check both sites on the day you buy. The FTC’s guidance on free trials and auto-renewals warns that a renewal can charge more than you paid before once a promotional rate ends. Visible’s SAVE6 rate moves to the market rate at about the 13th month, so put that date in your calendar.
Setup, Phones and Switching
Both services support eSIM. Fi says you can sign up at home and that number transfers usually take about 20 minutes, and it needs a compatible, unlocked phone. Visible says you can sign up with eSIM, bring your own phone or buy one, and its trial requires an eSIM-capable phone that is compatible with Visible.
The FCC’s number porting guide says not to cancel your old service before the new one starts, and that your old company cannot refuse to port your number, even if you owe money. Visible’s terms add that when you port a number in, some services such as 911 location may not be available right away. Keep your old line active until the new one works.
Cancelling differs too. Visible’s terms say you can cancel at any time, but if your account has been activated it will not issue refunds for payments you have made, and you may forfeit credits or promotions. Fi says there are no activation or cancellation fees, and you can pause a line for up to three months, though it says keeping Fi paused for extended periods violates its terms. Visible’s annual plan FAQ says no refunds are awarded after activation, so do not count on money back for unused months if you leave an annual plan early.
Support is the other practical gap. Fi lists 24/7 support from real people. Visible describes itself as app-based wireless for people who do everything on their phones, so plan on handling most things in the app and online. If you value walking into a shop, neither is built for you.
Which One Fits a Store Owner
A consumer phone plan is a personal line, not a business phone system. Neither Fi nor Visible gives you team seats, call routing or a business greeting. If you need those, my guide to getting a second phone number for your business is the better starting point. My roundup of the best VoIP services covers full systems.
Where either plan fits is the owner who answers their own calls. I recommend showing a phone number on high-ticket stores, because buyers considering a large order often want to talk to someone first. If you have not picked what to sell yet, my high-ticket niches list shows where those buyers live.
It matters on the supplier side as well. Dealer applications often involve a phone call, and a reliable line makes that easy. My guide on finding high-ticket suppliers shows how many of those steps end in a conversation.
If part of your phone bill is a business expense, keep clean records and ask a tax professional how to split a line used for both work and personal life. My business formation guide covers the entity and banking setup that makes those records easy to keep. Prefer to learn the whole model first? My free mini course is a good first step.
Who Should Pick Which
Pick Visible if you want the lowest all-in price
Visible wins for one to three lines, for anyone who wants Verizon’s network, and for people who want a no-card trial before paying. Visible+ at $35 all-in is the plan I would price first, since it adds premium data and a faster hotspot. It is a weaker fit for four or more lines on the mid tier, and for anyone who wants phone support around the clock.
Pick Fi if you have a group, travel often or want Google perks
Fi wins at four or more lines, for frequent travelers on Premium or Flexible, and for people who want smartwatch connectivity, data-only SIMs for a tablet or laptop and 24/7 support. It also fits anyone on T-Mobile’s side of the coverage map, or a Pixel owner who can use the first-year offer. Fi’s signup page shows the live plan list, and the referral credit may reduce the first bill.
Skip both if the line has to be a business phone
If you need a shared number, voicemail routing or a team, a business phone service is the better tool. Neither plan is designed for permanent residence abroad, either. Read the usage terms of whichever you pick before you count on it for a long stay.
My Verdict on Google Fi vs Visible
For one to three lines on a US-only budget, Visible is cheaper in the scenarios above, by $162 to $396 a year for a single line and by $216 or more for two. For four or more mid-tier lines, frequent travel with data, or round-the-clock support, Google Fi is the better fit and gets cheaper per line as you add people. At three lines the two are close once you count Fi’s taxes.
Only the Fi link on this page can earn me a commission, so weigh my lean toward Fi accordingly. The numbers favor Visible in several comparisons, and I would not tell a single US-based person to pay more for Fi without a clear reason such as travel, a big group, a Pixel offer or a preference for T-Mobile coverage. Test coverage at your address first, using Visible’s 15-day trial or Fi’s 7-day trial, before you commit to a year.
Before you pay either company, read the broadband label for your plan, check what a promotion turns into after it ends and set a reminder for the renewal date. If you want a second opinion on the setup behind your store, my coaching is where to ask.
Choose the Line You Will Still Be Happy With in a Year
Essentials at $35, Standard at $50 and Premium at $65 for one line, falling to $23, $25 and $40 per line at four lines. Fi says its taxes and fees are normally 10 to 20 percent on top, so price your exact plan before you join.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Google Fi or Visible cheaper in 2026?
By my arithmetic from the listed prices, Visible is cheaper for one to three lines because its prices include taxes and fees, while Fi adds a stated 10 to 20 percent. Fi catches up at four mid-tier lines. Confirm the final total at checkout on both sites.
Do Google Fi and Visible use the same network?
No. Fi says it runs on the T-Mobile network, and Visible says it runs on its parent company Verizon’s network. That means coverage can differ at your address, so test both before you commit.
Does Visible slow my data?
On the base Visible plan, Visible’s footnote says your data may be temporarily slower than other traffic in times of traffic. Visible+ and Visible+ Pro are described as premium data with no slowdowns due to prioritization, though some pages mention a 50 GB figure. Fi’s coverage page says Fi is not subject to deprioritization, but it slows you to 256 kbps after 30, 50 or 100 GB depending on the plan.
Which is better for international travel?
Fi, if you travel often, since Premium and Flexible include data in 200+ destinations. Visible sells Global Pass days at $10 each in 140 countries, with one or two days a month included on Visible+ and Pro, which can cost less on short trips. Both require mainly US use in their terms, so read them before relying on either abroad.
Can I try either service before committing?
Yes. Visible offers a 15-day free trial with no card and no auto-renewal. Fi lists a 7-day free trial that needs a card, and you can start from Fi’s signup page to see the current terms before it renews.
Want a Store Worth Putting a Phone Number On?
My team builds the high-ticket store and the setup around it, so the business behind the phone line is ready for real calls. Prefer to learn it yourself? The coaching and mini course routes are the other options.
