These are the two brands most people end up choosing between, and most comparisons of them are worthless because they compare a headline number from one company against a headline number from the other without checking that the two numbers mean the same thing. They frequently do not. I run E-Commerce Paradise and I have been buying and reselling gear like this for fifteen years, and the single most common error I see in this category is treating two cycle life figures as comparable when they are measured to different capacity floors.
I should say plainly that I earn a commission on both brands. That is exactly why I am going to let the arithmetic pick the winner in each use case rather than crown one overall, and why I am going to correct a piece of received wisdom about Jackery that is still repeated all over the internet and is simply out of date.
Every figure below comes from the manufacturer’s own product page or policy page, fetched the day this was written. Every runtime and cost figure is computed from usable watt hours at 85 percent inverter efficiency, never from nameplate capacity, and every cost per delivered kilowatt hour figure includes both the hardware and the electricity.
Same price, more capacity on the nameplate
At $499.00 the Bluetti AC180 carries 1,152 Wh against the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2’s 1,070 Wh. That is 979 usable Wh versus 910 at 85 percent inverter efficiency, and about 98 hours of router uptime versus 91.
First, kill the myth: Jackery is not an NMC brand any more
For years the standard line on these two was that Bluetti used lithium iron phosphate and Jackery used nickel manganese cobalt, so Bluetti lasted three times longer. That was true once. It is not true now, and repeating it in 2026 is a factual error rather than an opinion.
Jackery’s own buying advice page on which of its products use LFP chemistry lists nineteen current models running LiFePO4, including the Explorer 100 Plus, 240 v2, 300D, 300 v2, 300 Plus, 600 v2, 600 Plus, 1000 v2, 1000 Plus, 1500 v2, 1500 Ultra, 2000 v2, 2000 Plus, 5000 Plus and the HomePower line. The same page states that “Jackery Portable Power Stations with LiFePO4 batteries can last over 6000 cycles.”
So the chemistry argument is dead. Both brands ship LiFePO4 across their current mainstream ranges. Anyone still telling you to pick Bluetti because Jackery uses NMC is working from a spec sheet several generations old. Since I earn on both brands I have no incentive to leave that error standing, and I would rather correct it loudly than quietly.
But read the next sentence on that page
Here is where it gets interesting, and here is the finding that changes the comparison. That same Jackery page continues: “Once the cycles are completed, the batteries will operate at a capacity of 70% or higher.”
Seventy percent. Not eighty. Bluetti rates its packs to 80 percent of original capacity. Jackery’s headline 6,000 cycle figure is measured to a 70 percent floor, which is a lower bar, and a battery is allowed to degrade further before it counts as having reached the end of its rating. The two numbers are not comparable and stacking them side by side in a table without that qualifier is how bad comparisons get made.
It gets more interesting still when you leave the marketing page and read Jackery’s actual product spec tables. The Explorer 1000 v2 and Explorer 2000 v2 both list, in the tech specs block on their own product pages, a cycle life of “4000 cycles to 70%+ capacity”. Not six thousand. Four thousand, to a 70 percent floor.
I am not calling that dishonest. The 6,000 figure on the blog is a general statement about the chemistry and the 4,000 figure on the product page is the specific rating for that specific unit, and the product page is the one that governs. But it does mean that if you are comparing a Jackery to a Bluetti you should use 4,000 cycles to 70 percent for the Explorer models, not 6,000, and you should be aware that Bluetti’s competing numbers are measured to a stricter floor. Every number in this article uses the product page figure.
Head to head at $499.00
The cleanest comparison in this entire category exists because both companies happen to sell a flagship mid size unit at exactly the same price. Everything in this table is from the two manufacturers’ own pages.
One note on the cost rows before you read them. The hardware term is price divided by lifetime delivered energy. The all in figure adds the electricity you have to buy to fill the pack, which at the 17.30 cent US residential average for 2025 reported by the Energy Information Administration works out to 20.4 cents per delivered kilowatt hour after conversion losses. That energy term is identical for both brands, so it does not change the ranking, but leaving it out makes both units look far cheaper than they are.

Reading that table honestly
Jackery wins on cost, $0.341 all in against $0.349, a difference of about 2 percent once the electricity is counted. On the hardware term alone the gap looks bigger, $0.137 against $0.146, or about 6 percent, which is exactly why the hardware term on its own is a misleading way to present this. But Jackery wins that on a cycle rating measured to 70 percent capacity while Bluetti’s is measured to 80 percent. If you re rated the Bluetti to the same 70 percent floor its cycle count would rise and it would very likely take the lead. Neither company publishes the figure that would let you do that conversion, so I will not fabricate one. The honest statement is that these two are within noise of each other on lifetime energy cost, and anybody claiming a decisive win either way is over reading the data.
Where the differences are real and unambiguous is everywhere else. Bluetti gives you 82 more nameplate watt hours, 69 more usable watt hours, 300 W more continuous output and a fourth AC outlet. Jackery gives you 11.5 lbs less to carry and a faster full recharge.
Those are genuinely different products aimed at genuinely different buyers, and the weight gap is the one people underestimate. Thirty five pounds is a two hands and a grunt proposition. Twenty four pounds you can carry in one hand across a campsite. If the unit is going to live on a shelf and only move during outages, that does not matter at all. If it is going in and out of a van three times a week, it is the whole decision.
Runtimes, computed from usable watt hours
Here is the part almost everyone gets wrong. A runtime is usable watt hours divided by device draw, and usable watt hours is nameplate multiplied by inverter efficiency. I use 85 percent throughout this cluster, and that is already generous: working backwards from four appliance rows on Bluetti’s own AC180 runtime table gives only 78 to 81 percent of nameplate actually reaching the load. Never divide the nameplate figure straight by a wattage, it overstates every answer by roughly 15 percent.

The device draws in that table are the ones Bluetti itself publishes on its product pages, which keeps both columns on the same basis. The pattern is the point rather than the individual numbers. Low draw electronics run for days. High draw resistive loads like heating elements empty either unit inside two hours. If your reason for buying is a fridge, a router and some lights, both of these are generous. If your reason is a space heater, neither is, and you need to be looking at the 3 kWh class instead.
Rated to a stricter floor
Bluetti rates the Elite 200 V2 and Elite 300 at 6,000+ cycles to 80 percent of original capacity. Jackery’s Explorer spec sheets state 4,000 cycles to 70 percent. Same chemistry, different measuring stick, and the floor is the part that matters.
Moving up the range: 2 kWh class
The comparison shifts as you go up, so it is worth checking the next tier rather than assuming the $499.00 verdict scales.

At this tier the picture separates. The Elite 200 V2 comes in at $0.317 all in against Jackery’s $0.333, and it does so on a stricter capacity floor, so this one is a real win rather than a rounding difference. The AC200L is worse than both because its 3,000 cycle rating is the weakest in the group, and its main argument is expandability rather than energy economics.
Jackery’s counterargument at this tier is weight. Around 39.5 lbs against 53.4 lbs for the Elite 200 V2 and 62.4 lbs for the AC200L is a meaningful gap when you are lifting it into a truck bed. Charge speed
Jackery wins the headline here and it is a fair win. The Explorer 1000 v2 advertises Emergency Super Charge taking it from 0 to 100 percent in one hour. Bluetti’s AC180 publishes a Turbo mode at around 1,440 W input that takes 1.3 hours to full, with Standard at around 1,000 W taking 1.7 hours and a Silent mode at 260 W taking 4.9 hours. On a like for like full recharge, Jackery is roughly 20 minutes quicker on a slightly smaller pack.
How much this matters depends entirely on your use case. If you are recharging from a generator during a multi day outage, where every minute the generator runs is fuel and noise, it matters a great deal. If the unit charges overnight from a wall socket, the difference is invisible. Bluetti’s Silent mode is the underrated feature in that block, because 260 W at 45 dB overnight in a bedroom is a genuinely different experience from a fast charger fanning at full tilt.
App quality
Both ship app control and both work. The Bluetti app connects over Bluetooth on the AC180 and adds Wi-Fi on the newer Elite line, and Bluetti publishes remote wake, scheduling and energy monitoring on the Elite 300 product page. Jackery’s app covers the equivalent ground on its current models.
I am not going to give you a scored verdict on app quality, because I have no way to measure it that would survive scrutiny and app store ratings move with every release. What I will say is that connectivity type is a checkable spec and it matters: Bluetooth only means you must be within range of the unit, Wi-Fi means you can check on your house from another country. Bluetti’s Elite line publishes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The AC180 publishes Bluetooth. Check that spec on whichever specific model you are considering rather than trusting a brand level claim.
Warranty terms, and both companies contradict themselves
This section is messier than either brand would like, and the mess is the useful part.
Bluetti’s product pages list a 5 year warranty on the AC180, AC200L, Elite 100 V2, Elite 200 V2, Elite 300, Elite 400 and Apex 300. But Bluetti’s own warranty policy page says something broader: “For the product of portable power station, the warranty period varies from 24 months to 72 months”, and adds that “Warranty period may vary by country subject to local laws and regulations”. So five years is what those specific models advertise, not a flat guarantee across the line, and the umbrella policy allows for as little as two years on some products. Check the term on the exact model you are buying.
The same policy page also carries a restriction most write ups miss, including an earlier version of this one: “The limited warranty is restricted to the country of purchase. The warranty will be invalid on the items once they are taken or shipped to other countries.” If you buy a Bluetti in the US and move to Portugal with it, the cover does not travel with you.
Jackery has a parallel problem. Its Explorer 1000 v2 and Explorer 2000 v2 product descriptions both read “3-Year Warranty + 2 Extra Years Free” with the qualifier “Exclusively at jackery.com”, and the spec tables list warranty as “3+2 Years”. But Jackery’s own warranty policy page states 2+1 years warranty for the 1000 Series. Those are Jackery’s own numbers on Jackery’s own pages, and they do not agree. I cannot tell you which one governs your unit, and neither can any article that quotes only one of them.
So the honest position on warranty is this. Both brands headline five years. Both restrict or condition it in ways the headline does not say. Bluetti’s condition is geographic, Jackery’s is a purchase channel condition plus an unresolved internal conflict about the base term. Whichever you buy, read the policy page rather than the product page, keep the invoice, and if the term matters to your decision, ask support in writing before you order.
Support reputation
I want to be careful here because this is exactly where unsourced claims breed. I could not verify any third party support rating for either brand from a primary source this session, so I am not publishing one. Anything you read quoting a specific claim rate percentage or a specific ownership cost saving without naming and linking the study behind it should be treated as invented until proven otherwise.
What I can report is what each company publishes about its own service. Bluetti lists a US customer support line and staffed hours Monday to Saturday on its own site footer, plus a separate line for its residential storage products. Both companies operate direct storefronts with their own returns handling. Beyond that, judge by the warranty terms above, which are contractual and checkable, rather than by anecdote. Which one wins, by use case
Home outage backup, unit lives on a shelf
Bluetti, and it is not close at the 2 kWh tier. The Elite 200 V2 at $0.317 all in on a 6,000+ cycle rating to 80 percent capacity is the best lifetime value in this comparison, and weight is irrelevant for a unit that moves twice a year.
Van life, overlanding, anything you lift daily
Jackery. Around 23.8 lbs for the Explorer 1000 v2 against 35.3 lbs for the AC180 at the same price and similar capacity is the single largest practical difference in this entire article. You will feel eleven and a half pounds every day. You will not feel a 2 percent difference in lifetime energy cost.
Fast turnaround from a generator
Jackery, on the published 0 to 100 percent in one hour figure. If you are running a generator for the express purpose of refilling the battery, the shorter that window is the less fuel and noise you spend.
You expect your needs to grow
Bluetti, clearly. The AC200L is expandable with up to two B210 packs, one B230, or two B300 or B300K packs according to its own spec sheet, and the marginal cost of that capacity is far below the cost of buying a second complete unit. Jackery’s expandable models are in the Plus series rather than the v2 line, so the equivalent path starts at a higher entry price.
You might move country
Neither, and that is the honest answer rather than a dodge. Bluetti’s policy voids the warranty once an item is taken or shipped to another country. Jackery’s five year term is tied to buying direct from a specific storefront. If you expect to relocate, treat both warranties as covering the country you bought in and budget accordingly.
Absolute lowest cost per kilowatt hour at the entry tier
Jackery, on the published numbers, at $0.341 against $0.349 all in. But hold that verdict loosely, because it rests on a cycle rating measured to a 70 percent floor against Bluetti’s 80 percent. On a common floor the ranking would probably flip. Treat these two as tied at the entry tier and decide on weight, outlets and output instead.

Is Jackery’s five year warranty real?

Jackery’s warranty policy page, however, states 2+1 years warranty for the 1000 Series. Does Bluetti’s warranty have conditions too?
Yes, and this is worth knowing before you assume Bluetti is the safe choice on paper. These two brands are far closer than the internet thinks, because the internet is still running on a chemistry difference that no longer exists. Both ship LiFePO4. Both publish credible cycle ratings. Both headline a five year term that turns out to have conditions attached once you read the policy page rather than the product page.
The real differences are these. Bluetti rates its cycle life to a stricter 80 percent capacity floor and its top of range Elite units come in meaningfully cheaper, at $0.317 all in per delivered kilowatt hour on the Elite 200 V2 against $0.333 on the Explorer 2000 v2. Bluetti also offers a genuine modular expansion path. Jackery counters with substantially lighter units at every tier and a faster full recharge.
So: shelf mounted home backup and anything you intend to grow, buy Bluetti. Anything you carry regularly, buy Jackery. At the $499.00 entry tier, ignore the fractional difference in lifetime cost and pick on weight and outlet count, because that is where the meaningful gap actually is. And on either brand, buy it for the outage rather than for the bill, because both deliver power at roughly twice what your utility charges.
