These two brands sell against each other with two very specific claims. EcoFlow’s pitch is charge speed and app polish. Bluetti’s pitch is price per watt hour and cycle life. Both claims are testable against numbers the companies publish on their own product pages, and that is exactly what I am going to do here at E-Commerce Paradise, because after fifteen years selling physical products I have learned that a brand positioning statement is a hypothesis, not a fact.
A disclosure that shapes this article: I earn a commission on Bluetti. I do not earn one on EcoFlow. Our EcoFlow link points at their homepage, not an affiliate program. So there is no commercial reason for me to tilt this one, and as you will see below, on one of the most direct head to head pairings in the entire market the numbers go against the brand I get paid on. I am publishing that anyway, because a comparison you cannot trust is worth nothing to either of us.
Everything here is computed from usable watt hours at 85 percent inverter efficiency, and every cost per delivered kilowatt hour includes both the hardware and the electricity you push through it. No runtime or cost figure below is derived from nameplate capacity alone.
The cheapest watt hour in this comparison
Bluetti AC180 at $499.00 carries 1,152 Wh nameplate, 979 usable Wh at 85 percent inverter efficiency, and is rated 3,500+ cycles to 80 percent original capacity. That is $0.433 per nameplate watt hour and about 98 hours of router uptime per charge.
How the cost figures in this article are built
Two definitions, used consistently everywhere below, because mixing them is how this category’s write ups mislead people.
The hardware term is price divided by lifetime delivered energy, where lifetime delivered energy is nameplate watt hours multiplied by 0.85 multiplied by rated cycles. It is what the box costs you per unit of energy it moves.
The all in cost per delivered kilowatt hour adds the electricity. US residential power averaged 17.30 cents per kilowatt hour across 2025 according to the Energy Information Administration, and at 85 percent round trip you buy 1.176 kilowatt hours for every one that reaches your appliance, so the energy term is 20.4 cents. That term is identical for both brands. Where this article says “cost per delivered kilowatt hour” without qualification, it means the all in figure.
On the 85 percent: Bluetti’s own AC180 runtime table implies only 78 to 81 percent of nameplate actually reaches the load across four appliance rows, so 85 is already the generous end rather than a conservative fudge.
Test one: does EcoFlow actually charge faster?
Yes. This claim survives contact with the numbers, and it survives it cleanly.
The way to test a charge speed claim without a lab is to convert each manufacturer’s published charge time into an effective average charging rate: nameplate watt hours moved, divided by the hours it takes to move them. That normalises across different pack sizes and different measurement windows, and it uses only figures each company prints itself.

EcoFlow moves energy into its packs roughly 24 percent faster than Bluetti’s AC180 does in its fastest published mode. That is a real advantage and I am not going to argue it away.
What I will do is put a boundary around how much it matters. Bluetti publishes three charging modes for the AC180: Silent at 260 W taking 4.9 hours, Standard at around 1,000 W taking 1.7 hours, and Turbo at around 1,440 W taking 1.3 hours. EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 publishes 30 dB whisper quiet operation under 600 W load and a 10 ms auto switch. Both companies are engineering around the same tradeoff, which is that fast charging means fans.
If you recharge from a generator during a multi day outage, where every minute of runtime is fuel burned and neighbours annoyed, 24 percent faster is genuinely valuable. If your unit charges overnight from a wall socket, you are asleep for the difference and Bluetti’s 260 W Silent mode is arguably the more useful feature in a bedroom. Judge it on how you will actually charge.
Test two: does EcoFlow’s app polish claim hold up?
This one I cannot resolve with numbers, and I am going to say so rather than invent a verdict. App quality is a moving target that changes with every release, app store ratings are gamed in both directions, and I have no measurement I could defend.
What is checkable is connectivity and published features, which is a narrower question but an honest one. EcoFlow publishes app control on the DELTA 3 with time of use scheduling and a storm warning alert. Bluetti publishes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity on its Elite line with remote wake, energy monitoring and device scheduling, and Bluetooth only on the older AC180.
That last distinction is the one worth acting on. Bluetooth only means you have to be in the building to check the unit. Wi-Fi means you can look at your house from another continent, which for anyone travelling for work is not a small feature. Check the connectivity spec on the exact model you are buying rather than trusting a brand level impression, because within Bluetti’s own range it varies.
Test three: Bluetti’s price per watt hour claim, and where it breaks
Here is the part I did not expect when I started pulling numbers, and the part I would quietly drop if I were writing this to maximise commission.
Bluetti’s Elite 100 V2 and EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 are, on paper, the same product. Not similar. The same. Both carry 1,024 Wh nameplate. Both are rated at 4,000 cycles to an 80 percent capacity floor. Both deliver 1,800 W continuous. Both publish a 10 ms UPS switchover. At 85 percent efficiency both give you 870 usable watt hours per cycle and 3,482 kilowatt hours across rated life.

On this pairing EcoFlow wins on price per watt hour by 30 percent and on the hardware term by the same margin, on identical capacity and identical cycle ratings measured to the identical floor. It also happens to be expandable where the Bluetti is not, and it weighs 2.6 lbs more.
So Bluetti’s price per watt hour positioning does not hold as a brand level claim. It holds through specific models, and the model it holds through is the AC180.

The AC180 is the cheapest nameplate watt hour in this comparison at $0.433, and the Elite 300 has the lowest hardware term at $0.098, which is 46 percent below EcoFlow’s DELTA 3. Bluetti’s claim is true at the entry point and true at the top of the range. It is false in the middle, where the Elite 100 V2 sits.
Note what the last column does to all of this, though. Once the 20.4 cent energy term is added, the whole field compresses into a band from $0.301 to $0.462, and every unit here sits well above the 17.30 cent grid price. The hardware differences are real but they are a smaller share of your true cost than the marketing implies.
Three kilowatt hours, rated for 6,000 cycles
Elite 300: 3,014.4 Wh nameplate, 2,562 usable Wh at 85 percent inverter efficiency, 6,000+ cycles to 80 percent capacity, 2,400 W continuous. That is about 43 hours of fridge runtime at a 60 W daily average, per charge.
Test four: Bluetti’s cycle life claim
This one holds, but only above a certain price point, and the qualifier matters more than the number.
A cycle count without a capacity floor is meaningless. “4,000 cycles” tells you nothing until you know whether that means the pack still holds 80 percent of its original capacity at the end or 70 percent. Both companies do state a floor, which is more than can be said for parts of this industry, and both use 80 percent on the models compared here, so for once the numbers are directly comparable.
EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 spec table states “4000 cycles to 80+% capacity”. Its extra battery product description says the pack gets “10 years of daily use until it hits 80% of its original capacity” on 3,000 plus charging cycles. Bluetti’s ratings run from 3,000+ cycles to 80 percent original capacity on the AC70, AC200L and Elite 30 V2, through 3,500+ on the AC180 and 4,000+ on the Elite 100 V2, up to 6,000+ cycles to 80 percent on the Elite 200 V2, Elite 300, Apex 300 and the B300K expansion pack.
Worth knowing that EcoFlow does not use an 80 percent floor everywhere in its own range. Its DELTA Pro headline of 6500 plus cycles carries the footnote that those are approximately 6500 plus cycles at 50 percent capacity, which is a far lower bar than either brand uses here. Check the floor on the exact model, not the brand.
So at the 1 kWh tier the two brands are tied at 4,000 cycles to 80 percent. At 2 kWh and above, Bluetti’s Elite line is rated at 50 percent more cycles to that same floor than anything comparable EcoFlow publishes on the pages I could retrieve. Bluetti’s cycle life claim is a top of range claim, and at the top of the range it is correct.
Two figures I could not verify
I could not retrieve a cycle life rating or a capacity floor for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic or the DELTA 3 Max from their product pages. Both pages publish price, capacity, output, charge time and warranty, but the cycle specification did not appear in the page I fetched. Rather than borrow the DELTA 3’s 4,000 cycle figure and present it as applying to its siblings, I have recorded both as “Not published”.
The same discipline applies on the other side. Bluetti’s Elite 400 publishes 3,840 Wh, 2,600 W output and 85.98 lbs, but no cycle count and no capacity floor. It is therefore absent from every lifetime cost table in this article. If you are shortlisting any of those three units, ask the manufacturer directly for the rated cycles and the floor, because without both you cannot price the energy.
Warranty terms, and neither headline is unconditional
Both brands advertise five years on the models compared here. Neither of those five year terms is as clean as it looks, and I got this wrong in an earlier version of this article by treating Bluetti’s as unconditional. It is not.
Bluetti’s product pages list a 5 year warranty on the AC180, AC200L, Elite 100 V2, Elite 200 V2, Elite 300, Elite 400 and Apex 300. But Bluetti’s warranty policy page says the portable power station period “varies from 24 months to 72 months” and that “Warranty period may vary by country subject to local laws and regulations”. The same page adds: “The limited warranty is restricted to the country of purchase. The warranty will be invalid on the items once they are taken or shipped to other countries.” So the five years applies to those models in the country you bought them in, and the umbrella policy allows for terms as short as two years elsewhere in the range.
EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 Max spec table states its warranty as a 5 year warranty that “Includes 3-year standard warranty and 2-year extended warranty available upon EcoFlow App registration.” So two of the five years require you to register the product in their app.
Different conditions, comparable weight. Bluetti’s is geographic and you cannot do anything about it after the fact. EcoFlow’s is an action you take once, in five minutes, on the day the unit arrives. If you buy EcoFlow, register it immediately. If you buy Bluetti and expect to move country, understand that the cover does not travel.
Expandability and weight
EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 is expandable from 1 kWh to 5 kWh using DELTA 3, DELTA Pro 3, DELTA 2 or DELTA 2 Max extra batteries, and the DELTA 3 series extra battery adds 1,024 Wh for $389.00, which is $0.380 per watt hour. Bluetti’s expansion story runs through the AC200L, which its spec page says accepts up to two B210 packs, one B230, or two B300 or B300K packs, and through the Apex 300, which accepts up to six B300K, B300S or B300 packs per unit. A standalone B300K is $1,200.00 for 2,764.8 Wh, which is $0.434 per watt hour.
EcoFlow is cheaper per expansion watt hour. Bluetti expands further, since six B300K packs on an Apex 300 gets you past 16 kWh where EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 tops out at 5 kWh. Different ceilings for different problems.
On weight the two are close at the 1 kWh tier, 25 lbs for the Elite 100 V2 against 27.6 lbs for the DELTA 3. Runtimes, from usable watt hours
Same method throughout: usable watt hours equals nameplate multiplied by 85 percent, then divided by device draw. The Elite 100 V2 and the DELTA 3 both give 870 usable watt hours, so their runtimes are identical and the choice between them is purely price. The AC180 gives 979.

The 600 W microwave and 1,560 W electric grill draws are Bluetti’s own published device figures, used here so both columns sit on the same basis. The fridge figure is a worked example on an assumed 60 W daily average rather than a manufacturer number, because real fridges vary enormously and you should measure yours with a plug meter rather than trust anybody’s table, mine included.
Which one, by use case
You want the most capacity for the least money
Bluetti AC180 at $499.00. At $0.433 per nameplate watt hour and $0.349 all in per delivered kilowatt hour it is the cheapest energy in this comparison at the entry tier, and nothing EcoFlow publishes at that price matches it.
You want a 1 kWh unit and you are cross shopping directly
EcoFlow DELTA 3 at $629.00. Against Bluetti’s Elite 100 V2 at $899.00 it is the same capacity, the same cycle rating to the same floor, the same continuous output and the same UPS switchover, for $270 less. I earn nothing on that recommendation and I am making it anyway, because the specification tables leave no room for a different answer.
You want the lowest lifetime hardware cost, full stop
Bluetti Elite 300. Its 6,000+ cycles to 80 percent capacity on 3,014.4 Wh gives 15,373 kilowatt hours delivered across rated life, and at $1,499.00 that is a $0.098 hardware term, the lowest number anywhere in this article, and $0.301 all in.
You recharge from a generator
EcoFlow, on charge rate. 1,097 W effective against Bluetti’s 886 W in Turbo mode means less generator runtime, less fuel and less noise per refill.
You need a quiet overnight recharge indoors
Bluetti, on the published 260 W Silent mode taking 4.9 hours at 45 dB. Slow charging is a feature when the alternative is a fan running next to your bed.
You expect to scale past 5 kWh
Bluetti, via the Apex 300, which accepts up to six expansion packs per unit against the DELTA 3’s 5 kWh ceiling.
You might relocate abroad with it
EcoFlow, narrowly, because Bluetti’s warranty policy explicitly voids cover once an item is taken or shipped to another country. Verify EcoFlow’s regional service position for your destination before relying on this, since cross border support is patchy across this whole industry.
Neither of these saves you money on electricity
Worth restating plainly, because a low hardware term read the wrong way is the most common error in this category. The hardware term is what the box costs you per unit of energy it moves. It is not the cost of the energy, because you still have to buy that.
Charging from the grid at the 2025 US residential average of 17.30 cents per kilowatt hour reported by the Energy Information Administration, and losing 15 percent to conversion, the electricity alone costs 20.4 cents per delivered kilowatt hour before the hardware is counted. Add the hardware and every unit in this article lands between $0.301 and $0.462, which is roughly 1.7 to 2.7 times what your wall socket charges. Buy either brand for availability. Outages, off grid living, van and RV use, job sites, medical loads overnight, and anywhere a petrol generator is impossible because you are indoors or because of noise rules. Those are the cases where this hardware earns its price, and they are good cases. Cutting a power bill is not one of them.

Bluetti, but only above the 1 kWh tier. Both are rated at 4,000 cycles to an 80 percent floor at 1 kWh. Above that, Bluetti’s Elite 200 V2, Elite 300, Apex 300 and B300K pack are all rated at 6,000+ cycles to 80 percent, which is 50 percent more than anything EcoFlow publishes to that floor on the pages I could retrieve. Note also that I could not find a cycle rating at all for the DELTA 3 Classic or DELTA 3 Max, so those two are unpriceable on lifetime energy, and that EcoFlow’s DELTA Pro 6500 plus cycle figure is measured to a 50 percent floor rather than 80.
Are the two five year warranties the same?
No, and neither is unconditional. Bluetti lists 5 years on the product pages I checked, but its warranty policy page says the portable power station period varies from 24 to 72 months, may vary by country, and is void once an item is taken or shipped outside the country of purchase. EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 Max spec table describes its five years as a three year standard warranty plus a two year extension available upon EcoFlow app registration. Register an EcoFlow the day it arrives, and do not assume a Bluetti’s cover follows you abroad.
Which is better for home backup during an outage?
Both switch over fast enough that the difference is invisible: EcoFlow publishes a 10 ms auto switch on the DELTA 3, Bluetti publishes 10 ms or better on its Elite line. Decide on capacity and lifetime cost instead. Can I mix expansion batteries between the brands?
No. Expansion packs communicate with the base unit over a proprietary bus and are not cross compatible, so the brand you pick for the base unit is the brand you are committed to for every pack afterwards. That makes expandability worth deciding on up front rather than later, because switching means replacing everything.
Bottom Line
Both brand positioning claims turn out to be partly true, which is the most interesting possible result. EcoFlow really does charge faster, by about 24 percent on published figures, and that is worth paying for if you refill from a generator. Bluetti really does have longer cycle life, but only from the 2 kWh tier upward where its Elite range is rated at 6,000+ cycles to 80 percent capacity.
Bluetti’s price per watt hour claim is the one that only partly survives. It is true through the AC180 at $0.433 per nameplate watt hour and through the Elite 300 at a $0.098 hardware term. It is false through the Elite 100 V2, which is a spec for spec twin of EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 and costs $270 more for it.
My advice, given the numbers rather than the commissions: buy the AC180 if you want the cheapest capacity at the entry tier, buy the DELTA 3 if you are choosing specifically at 1 kWh, and buy the Elite 300 if you want the lowest hardware cost available from either brand. Whatever you choose, buy it for the outage rather than for the bill, because all in these deliver power at between 1.7 and 2.7 times grid.
